Thanks Andy so much for an insight into this futuristic (for it's time) machine!
Hotpoint thought of it all - fast spin speed, iconic design (if only it had of progressed), easy to use controls, a ton of electronics, safety features etc.
One has to survive here somewhere.

Paul, great pics for final reference, weird blue top and no white top pics anywhere!!
It looks like it fills from the sump like the keymatic, I wonder how this looked inside like compared to the English Electric Reversomatic Solid State, would be great to compare the two side by side someday!!!

Hmmm, i'm now wondering....
My question for today is at the time when this machine went out to market, was it Hoover or Hotpoint that had the most advanced machine on the market? We know the 1600 had an electronic control, but did Hoover have this on their machines by this time? or was this introduced on the 3243H series?
Paul, I shall email for you for that info. I am a step closer to getting round to the 1828/02, the dyson CR01 main bearing is almost out so I can get around to reassembling it soon, (What a PITA to remove!). I am going to give the libby a good clean before I do some pics.

Which washers with the Hotpoint 1600
Andy in terms of electronics it would appear Hotpoint refined them first, promoting them as "Electronic" although I still would love to compare the EE Reversomatic Solid State machines to see if Hotpoint advanced those!!
Models out at the same time would be:

FRONT LOADERS:

Do you know of any in known existance Mike? Googled it to death but no real idea of what the components of this machine were. I wonder if there was any component sharing with Hotpoint?
Also thought it was quite interesting how the 1600/1830 motor was bottom mounted, and then moved to the top on the liberators / 95 / wm series.

How funny one should bring that up.
Haynes manual mentions that....
Indesit brushed motors (from what I gather low spin 800 and below Indesits used Induction motors especially the ones of the 1970's) from 1100 machines of an era were of GEC manufacture or of EXTREME likeness.
Now checking the motor shown in Haynes as an Early fitment to Indesits against the one shown in the Hpt diagrams do show variances BUT I do wonder if this was actually fitted to the 1600's and Indesit bought the tooling later on to produce their own motors for the 1100 spin Generation Innovations.
Its that little sentence that throws me.
"This motor replaces GEC versions".
1600 stock bought by Indesit after a failed production before the Libeartors to be fitted 10 years down the line to Indesits??????

Notice the odd Carbon brushes holder. Not like Hotpoint square one and theres no image on the service drawings.

I remember doing brushes on an Indesit motor identical to this image, slightly longer than the Philips motor brush IIRC. Would seem like a long time to wait to start using the tooling for this motor. Unless it took ages for Hotpoint to sell to another firm.
