I was finally able to get close enough to the fridge to open it up for the first time this weekend! It looks pretty good - I checked out the wiring and it seems fine (the mice stayed out of it - yay!). The inside looks pretty good, too! The racks and trays are all there!
I'll be powering it up this weekend with any luck!!
Question - anyone have any advice on installing one of these babies? I have what I believe to be the original installation bracket for the wall, but is there anything else that I might need?

Lovely!

Your wall-mount fridge is just too ffhabulous, is all your kitchen in turquoise (with copper) as your member name might suggest?

Lovely fridge

It will be! I had found a lot of decorating books with a copper accent theme, so I figured I would stick with that.
I can't wait until the whole installation is complete!

I have one of these babies, and my advice is to have a lot of strong friends around to help you with the install. That thing is seriously hefty.

For some reason, mine burns out light bulbs quickly. I don't know if that's a wiring thing or what, but I've given up on replacing the light bulbs. Also, the freezer seems to frost up pretty quickly. But other than that, they are an awful lot of fun to have around the house. Don't know that I'd use one as my daily kitchen fridge, but it's perfect in the basement for beer and pop.

My current kitchen fridge is a 59 Kelvinator and it used to frost up really badly until I had the door seals replaced.

I wonder if the fact that the bulb is so close to the cooling coils in the refrigerator might cause them to burn out faster (heating and cooling shock??)

Do you have the butter conditioner in the door?? I just flipped when I noticed that!

Hi Paul, I have TWO GE wall mount refrigerators and one is currently up and running in my workshop. I have the GE service instructions for hanging it on the wall. Its really very easy with a couple of strong people helping. Ive removed several from the wall and also hung several. Its not a hard job at all.........

Hi Jimmy,
Could I trouble you for a copy of the installation instructions? It doesn't look like it should be too hard if all that is needed is to hang it on the bracket.
I noticed some vents on the far right hand side of the top of the cabinet, would it be safe to assume that these should be kept clear for ventilation purposes?
I am so looking forward to testing this fridge on the weekend!!

Hey:
We had one of these in pink while I was growing up. It was really cool..I dont understand why the concept did'nt catch on better? Ours had storage bins underneith and still had ample counter space from the bin to the edge of the counter. Everything was at eye level so you could things easy..freezer was the same way. However: my mother always worried herself silly over what would happen if it went out (call a repair man!!!!) Hope you enjoy and it will be a great conversation pice once you get it up and running. It was always a good for a laugh when someone new came to the house and went to get something out of the fridg and could'nt find it..LOL!!

Yes, Paul Id be glad to send you a copy of the installation instructions. Email me your address again and I can put a copy in the mail to you........
