Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

The Drum is SO much bigger then the GE and the Drum light is great. A full load of towels was completely dry in 35 minutes!

the cabrios...
nice set when i saw these in best buy they looked small for some reason (the outside) however i like the "agi" model washer because it uses more water LOL! but really nice set. will you be making more videos?

vintagesearch ;P

I'll be making more videos soon. Probably going to make a video of a queen comforter, sheets, pillow cases, and some other items... Thursday :)

COOL!

Is the dryer a 27" wide (675mm)or a 29" wide (725mm) model?
Although it has the 29" dry system and bulhead, the cabinet looks sleeker than that size to me.

Why would you say it is so fast? What is the washer's spin speed?

The windowed door is a nice touch, but I fear that drum will be blue-green sooner or later!

TYVM.

Thanks Guys!

The washer spins at 1050 rpms, the dryer is the 29" model. I think that it dries so fast because it has the 2 motors, and higher temps (when on Heavy Duty).

Yeah, the tub may eventually turn blue, but the GE's tub wasn't to bad after 10ish years.

Dryer

Although the dryer looks sleek and works well (and why shouldn't it?), is it really Whirlpool's trusty old dryer under the skin? The top-mounted lint filter seems to indicate its origins. If it is a sleek new body on a proven old design, I'm all for it.

Enjoy,
Dave

According to my Whirlpool Rep, the Cabrio is the Dual motor system. I made a new video of the Cabrio washing a Queen Comforter, sheet, matress cover, and pillow cases... Uploading to Google video now! its about 2 minutes and shows the start of the wash on Bulky Bedding. Camera died, and couldn't find batteries so this will have to do for now :(

The Whirlpool Cabrio dryer does not have the dual motor system. It is an upgraded version of the traditional dryer using the loop airflow system. The lint filter is accessed from the top and the blower wheel is directly coupled to the main motor. Vents from the rear.

The Kenmore Oasis dryer has the rear to front (axial) airflow. Lint filter up front just inside the door opening. The belt-driven blower system is called Turbo-dry. The TOL machines have a variable speed motor operating the blower. This arrangement is called Dual action dry. They offer rear, side and floor venting options.

Both machines share a new cabinet structure, dual drum bulkheads(front-rear) and 4 point drum roller suspension system.

I'm Having trouble uploading it to Google... and its over the 100mb rule for youtube... Its coming dont worry!

File Uploading Alternatives

Try using one of the below posted file sharing resources. At least you can upload a huge file in this capacity. As long as it's basic Windows Media compatible, I would gladly accept it. I found these Web resources in the March 2007 issue of PCWorld under the article entitled ”35 THINGS EVERY PC USER SHOULD KNOW.” The subheading is “Move Big Files across the Internet.” See Web addresses below.--Laundry Shark

A file storage option that seems to be consistently overlooked is that many ISPs provide server space for user home pages. One doesn't have to create a formally-written web page, the space can be used for storing/sharing individual files as well. A size limit is typically enforced, which depending on the parameters may be sufficient for just a few large files, or may not be enough for a LARGE file at all .. but it's a possibility to be investigated. You're paying for the service, may as well use everything it offers.

After watching the video, I wonder if this machine is really washing the sheet and comforter?
Nothing is moving except the tub. I don't like that system at all.
From what I can see.

I have this dryer and really like it, especially the window. The reason it dries so fast is that it has a dual heating element system. It is like the old Kenmore electric Soft Heat. When the operating thermostat is satisfied, the larger element cycles off, but the smaller one stays on so the dryer does not suffer the big swings in temperature like most dryers have between the heat off and heat on periods. I like the added capacity gained by the built out bulkhead area in front of the drum. I also like the drum light that can be on during the drying.
