Pretty neat machine Robert, and I am glad you got it going. I knew from your motor post that it was a mechanical problem as motors never behave in the way you described. Can't wait to see it in person some time.

It looks great. Actually I am amazed that a BOL machine looks so good. The TOLs much have really been something.
I wonder if the bad repair was an issue and actually preserved this machine over the decades.
So neat so see these preserved.

And, live and learn -- I had no idea Thor had anything to do with the Bendix powersurge. Fascinating machine.

Great collectible. Other than ads I never thought I'd see an Easy automatic.
Except the "Westinghouse" toploader mom bought when she got disgusted with the potato-pulley FL breaking down. I could have sworn it had a perforated tub, but honestly I didn't spend that much time at home after 1964.

Great find and great save. You make so many of the rest of us green with envy!! I'm glad you explained the Easy/Hotpoint relationship. The only Easy automatic I've ever seen was a Hotpoint clone. I knew there was a connection there so now I understand. I love the way appliance makers once put personality into their machines instead of trying to make everything look the same as the competition. I also like how they used to be proud of their machines and displayed the name in BIG, BOLD letters. Now, you need bifocals to see the appliance makers name and brand A looks just like brand B. Can't wait for videos.

I'll post some soon, Easy started out as a Beam machine, then in '59 they designed their own direct drive transmission called the "Velvapower". They made these until 1966 when Hotpoint started producing the Easy line.
This machine is the rare "Velvapower" type.

Hi Robert - thanks for posting. From looking at the chart can I assume that even though the timer dial says up to 6 minutes for a wash it will give it a 10 minute wash? Also I assume being it is a solid tub is it timed fill? Does it also do a overflow rinse?

Thanks for posting the cycle chart. Very interesting and unique indeed. I see no indication on the cycle diagram that overflow rinsing is present, but I would assume that it does overflow rinse.

No overflow rinse but it has a long strong spray rinse and its NOT a time fill machine. Water overflows into the outer tub when the tub is full and trips a water sensor to start agitation. Since the machine does not pump out during agitation this design cannot support an overflow rinse.
Pete you can get 10 full minutes of wash by setting the dial at the beginning of the Regular cycle.

it spins for 2 minutes before the sprays start, and then it goes right to the rise fill, kinda like a 1-18. And Boy! that Fine cycle is only 10 minutes. Interesting chart.
Malcom & Pete if you look at the pics of the older machine linked in Robert's post--click on "that Machine" in post #19-- the circulation is present during the rinse, but no overflow, unless my perception is off.

Great looking machine Robert! The machine doesn't look too spartan for a BOL machine. It is pretty well equipped. However, I still think it is a superb machine, and I don't want to see the TOL machines in the Easy lineup if this is a BOL LOLOL. Would you be able to post a video? Congratulations and enjoy!
As promised earlier a few more pictures. Larry at Modern has a NOS Easy motor coupler and its on it way to me so I can make the machine stock again. I will do a video when I get a spare moment.
This machine came with a slurp up style filter, but its little ineffective self is going to mainly sit on the shelf and look pretty, lol...

Here is the Velvapower transmission. The motor bolted to the tranny on the left, the tranny in the center and the pump is bolted to the right side of the transmission...
