What's that machine next to it? thor -oXXXX

That's a Thor badged Bendix Powersurge.

Do you still have the 1962 Easy?

Yes, but that machine not nearly in as good of shape as this machine.  The new machine runs so much smoother and quieter.

I take it this is a time fill machine?

Actually Lawrence its not, when the tub is full water overflows into the outer tub which trips a water level sensor.

Mike the Agitator is made out of bakelite.

An Awesome Score!

And I'm glad (certainly by no means surprised) you figured out the motor issue.  Sometimes walking away from and coming back to a perplexing issue with renewed resolve and a different perspective is all that's required.

Kevin, you are to be commended for your key contribution to this cause!

Nate, even though Robert had already been alerted to the CL ad, your post provided an oblique clue regarding the mystery motor!

Hard work pays off again!

I'm impressed Robert! As in so many other area's of your life, your determination to get what you want is rewarded again.

The machine is beautiful and now definitely in it's rightful home.

It really is a beauty and just proves that you can never say "I'm done" in this hobby.

It truly is a beautiful machine, I saw and touched it over the weekend. Congrats on getting it up and going again - hopefully that's the last of the trouble and it can now live up to it's Easy name!

I took a bunch of pictures with my Heavy Duty Automatic DSLR so I'll try to get some of those up later tonight after class.

Hupp 2, 3, 4 ....when they took over, true Easy was no more

It's vintage classic Murray, of the Murray Corporation of America, Syracuse, New York.

Just stopped by for more pix.

Wow

It looks great. Actually I am amazed that a BOL machine looks so good. The TOLs much have really been something.

I wonder if the bad repair was an issue and actually preserved this machine over the decades.

So neat so see these preserved.

CONGRATULATIONS Robert!!  What a perfect holiday present!!!   I can't believe the condition it's in.  The cabinet, tub, agitator, and that beautiful shinny cape look mint.   Hard to believe to two rare Easy's have shown up this year!

What a great find!!!

Robert, you never cease to amaze me. I have never seen an Easy automatic in person.

And, live and learn -- I had no idea Thor had anything to do with the Bendix powersurge. Fascinating machine.

Keep up the good work.

Great collectible. Other than ads I never thought I'd see an Easy automatic.

Except the "Westinghouse" toploader mom bought when she got disgusted with the potato-pulley FL breaking down. I could have sworn it had a perforated tub, but honestly I didn't spend that much time at home after 1964.
