The fold-down burners have arrived!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

*FABULOUS and TRES CHIC*

Way cool.

I'd use 'em in my kitchen to supplement my smooth-top when I just *HAD* to use cast-iron or non flat-bottomed cooking vessels!

Is that a built-in? or does it sit on the countertop?
If "portable" how is it connected to power?

Santa Cruz

In the 1950's my family went to Santa Cruz, and stayed at the beach in apartments. The small kitchen had those units, no oven. For a vacation unit it was perfect. Most of the time it was folded up, and saved space. The guy who owned this place lived in the unit above the apartments, which were on the ground floor, one on each side of the garage. Above his unit was a roof garden. You could walk up the cliff to his other units at the top of the cliff, also accessible from another road. At times we stayed in those units, which had a washer and dryer-Frigidaire of course. That's where I could run the washer and watch it agitate and go in to that spin.

You might be able to determine the voltage by checking out the wiring terminal-block.

Two hots and a neutral is prob 208/220 vac.
One hot and a neutral is probably 110/120 vac.

Two hots and two neutrals *GULP* that is guess-work, might be separable into one or two 110v circuits.

HINT: if the coil wattages (both combined) tops 1,800w in total it's prob. 220v.

When I was a little kid, some friends had burners like these. Years later, having never seen them anywhere else, I wondered if my memory was playing tricks and I'd only imagined they were fold-down burners. Nope! They really do exist.

In addition to the neat-o burners, they had a rockin' GE washer with three agitation speeds, which I thought was pretty exotic back in 1966.

Installation of burners

These are 220 and made to be permanently attached to the wall. Otherwise there is a danger of the lid coming down on you and your food!
I have both installation and operating manuals for these. Email me at [email protected] and I arrange to get you copies.
Also, these came in a couple different variations--with or without heatminder or speed heat burners...
