The "Garbage pile Sunbeam model 11"!

Several years ago I found this model 11 Sunbeam in winston Salem on the side of the road , The "cord cutter" as we call him had got there first, and it had no bowls or beaters, but I got it because basically it looked good, last night I decided to clean it up and put on a new cord, it ran like a new one, under the plate where the cord connects was the date, October 1956, I rounded up some beaters and bowls...Yes I know its supposed to have glass bowls, but for everyday use, these are lighter and easier to handle..

To order a new decal, and it has some very light pitting in a few places, but all in all, pretty nice.

Test it, made a Devils Food cake, ran great.

Very pretty for a trash-pile find! I like the stainless bowls too, I gave mom a set for her white 12. Much lighter and easier to handle, especially when full of heavy cookie dough.

I too prefer using the stainless bowls for daily use, as I've had 2 of the glass bowls crack in the dishwasher

Can I lick the beaters?

I'd say it looks like new but new stuff today doesn't look like that.

I enjoy the hush of the model 11. It was so sleek and modern looking after the years and years of similar designs of the models 5 through 10. The 11 had a liking to seize the spindles but as long as it gets oiled once in a while it should be fine. I see the fins of the Chrome Medel J on display with it as well.

Real nice for a trash find-glad you rescued it.Now it leads a second happy life insead of languishing in a landfill-HATE THOSE CORD CHOPPERS!Would like to chop THEIR cords!Yes,the SS bowels are best for Daily driver use-no worry of breaking.The glass ones have to be handled carefully.and they are slippery when wet!May those Sunbeam MM mixers live on-truely classic appliances.
