The Inevitable has happened - No more WP agitator washers...

The Amana's agepiller has me puzzled. It looks no where near to the maytag version of it. It actually looks as if it has proper fins and can do a decent job at cleaning. Also is whirlpool going to come out with these models as well? All i'm seeing is Amana and Maytag models so far...

Looks like kenmore's have now been revamped with the agepeller models as well. Models such as 20222 and 22332. Looks EXACTLY like the Amana models from the outside...

I'm sure this redesign is in response to water regulations but I bet they kept in mind complaints about the old design and liquid fabric softener. That was actually one of the biggest reasons I didn't choose a WP brand washer because I didn't want a high end machine. With most of the low end models you couldn't use liquid FS except on like one cycle. What a pain! I guess only time will tell how these guys will do. I'm interested to see them in action

Almost looks like my creation!

Funny I just noticed in logixx's photo 3 of the Kenmore version of the new agipeller…it looks very similar to the setup in my GE Hydrowave. I put in the older straight vane FlexCare agitator. I don't do many large loads so the corkscrew was kind of pointless. This adds a little more room in there. Interesting! ;-)

Is this the same drive mechanism used in the full size WT washers introduced not too long ago to replace the direct drives?

It's the same drive system as previous VMW machines that replaced LEAP (direct drive).

i currently find that the HE agitator models of WP VMW washers don't wash that well or clean to be honest now they are bringing these smh it could get worse now.

Idealy it should have both 180 and 360 degree wash profiles .... idk what WP is doing but i see front loaders as the end all with washers or go SpeedQueen

even is speedqueen goes HE it will still be better than WP variants.

This washes like the GE hydrowave, with the Precise fill options. It fills lower than a regular washer. Seeing this makes me feel a little better. It looks like it uses enough water.

If it washes like the Hydrowave, it will do a good job. You can use lower water a lot more than in a typical short/fast agitation system since the clothes move more side to side. I've had mine set up with an older straight vane agitator and it looks and works similar to this. Nice improvement over the last models…and I'm glad they brought the deep rinse back!

and it still appears to be available for sale. Parents are very pleased with it. It has selection dials for water level, temperature, and second rinse, in addition to the master control knob. Seems to wash pretty well for a TL. It was on sale in January for $398. They also sell a similar wash with an "agipeller" and they now bill it as an "HE TL" machine, and currently sell it for $398, vs $498 for my parents' model. THe prices for the two models were reversed in January.

I don't get how they came to the conclusion to use this as a slogan in combination with the HE agitator.
This washer does not have a heater AFAIK, and I doub it has true hot fills as it advertises its ATC.

Agreed. The fact that they felt no reason to explain where the supposed heat comes from seriously lowers their credibility, IMO.

Also, do I need new glasses or is the washer only a bit over half full? So I get to run 2 loads instead of one?

I immediately caught the reference to "added heat," which is a puzzle for sure, LOL.

Regards to the water level, this is an HE machine with a centerpost added to the impeller.  They have auto-water level sensing, no manual setting.  And the load shown is of average size, certainly not a full load.
