Yes! It's a Beehive glass-bowl Sunbeam CoffeeMaster!

I didn't even know they existed until I saw this on Friday. I mentioned it to Terry Friday night on the phone and he 'gently urged me' to go back and get it. I stopped by the estate sale again on Saturday afternoon and it was still there. The top bowl turns in the seal but it won't separate from the lower pot. I may try heating it up with a heat-gun or even heating water in the lower section to see if I can get them apart. It would really be fun to use this, if even just once.

The two Corning Electromatics and the Westinghouse came from a flea-market this weekend. The Corning pots were $5 each and the Westinghouse I had to part with $4!

Greg,

I found a mint Westinghouse very similar to yours at an estate sale several years ago, but mine has the usual type of stem. I'm thinking that yours might have only been around for a brief period, looks like it would be a PITA to use.

try some vegetable oil or PAM spray on the seal...I have the same one but both top and bottom are chrome....mine were stuck also...it took some time to work but then it just popped out...

Great find Greg!

I LOVE vacuum coffee pots. If I weren't spending so much money on vintage appliances, I'd be collecting them, big time! It's funny but I remember that my Mother and Father ended up with a zillion mismatched glass carafes and top bulbs because one or the other would always break(or be broken by curious children). I think that's maybe why they went the way of the Dodo..

Pity they don't brew coffee quite as well as filter contraptions, but the floor show is worth it.

Have any of you tried the "Cold-Brewing" Systems?

Very cool Sunbeam beehive! I knew that they existed, but have never found one.

I have the same Westinghouse perc with the same setup. I bought it because of its' sleek styling.

Do your Electromatics use the special cord or a standard perc cord? I have 3 different ones that use the special cord, but only one cord to share between them.

Great finds!

Unstick

Try just a little WD40,but dont use a heat gun!I have had a couple to stick like that also, and remember to pull straight up so you dont hit the the glass bottom and break it off.Its so pretty.I saw one at Marks.

Great Find Greg

Had the same thing happen to me once with my coffeemaker that was given to me by a neighbor.

I simply put water in the top portion, let it drip down to the bottom, and then switched the unit on. The heat of the water eventually loosened the two pots.

Greg, I am so glad that you took my "gentle urging" and went back to get the beehive. I think will a little trying you will get it apart. Keep us posted. That Westinghouse is one that I have never seen before, what a strange pump set up. Great finds!!!

Funny even with the club here

You didn't know about the glass beehive. There was one sitting on my hutch when you were here!!!
But the KA dishwasher had your eye then.

The future IS Small Electrics!

I collected stick blenders for years! and never knew about the Myers until this spring! I didn't even know Oster made a stick blender until 10 years of collecting HB!!
