To make the Mini more "functional" all KA has to do is redesign the flat beater,and the whisk-so you can put the whisk in the dishwasher.Then they might have something.Put a center post and "spokes" in the flat blade beater-that should fix its problems-Other words make the flat beater like the ones on other KA mixers.

Oh yes-put a spiral blade on the dough hook like on others.Increase cooling to the motor if dough kneading is going to be done with this small machine.

What boggles me is KitchenAid does send out samples of new items before release to sell with the understanding of giving them feedback. Watching Amy with her reports is sometimes a bit "painful" (makes me wonder if she tried this or that while not on being recorded). This is one person's tests, there are some other videos of the Artisan Mini in action. I too agree in expecting dishwasher safe parts! Is it a matter of cost?
It was done with every mixer attachment that was released in the last 15 years. Surely the flat beater's effectiveness surfaced with the test market. The flaws hurt their reputation "for the way it's made" without a doubt.

Out of curiousity went to the Bed ,Bath,Beyond to see this machine in person-NONE there.Has this machine been released for consumption yet?Again not going to buy one-just wanted to see it.
I saw some on display at Target yesterday. They are really small and the bowl doesn't look much larger that the small bowl on an older Sunbeam Mixmaster. I don't know why anyone would want one or these. They were the same price and the KA Classic. I would rather have the full size machine and a KA handmixer. And if I didn't have room for a full size KA, I'd just make do with the handmixer.

Flex Edge Beater
Take a look at the Flex-edge beater for the 6 qt. mixers. The center post has been removed too. The flat beater in the new cooking bowl has no center post as well. Is there any member of this forum that may have tested this attachment? There are only 3 reviews posted: one claiming it does not fit and the other 2 being perfectly content with the product.
It appears KitchenAid is losing ground to Kenwood in Europe. Kenwood has a Cooking Chef machine which utilizes induction technology. All of Kenwood's bowl attachments are dishwasher safe. KitchenAid's "Precise Heat" mixing bowl came into being about a year after. The flat beater packed with that unit has no center post and the silicone "scraping" edge. Kenwood's scraping beater has a spiraled edge, much like the Beater-Blade with no center post and the silicone is removable.
