Just think, many of us are the last of cursive trained and can actually read the panel. With some schools here omitting any writing requirement, you wonder if one day, on a Mark Museum tour(ok, somewhere in W-D Heaven) there will be this comment, "What does it say above 'two cycle two speed'?" There are many design hints here that present retro-influencing ideas. Oh and stop showing off these heart-stopping show pieces...it's adding to the lust that goes bust in a fuss. Awesome eye-candy...ditto all the above statements.

I believe those date to the 1965 model year. I have a sales brochure that dates to 1965 and those machines are featured. And if I recall, the original owner of Mark's set posted pictures and had the "in service date" of 1/3/66 written on the use and care guide.

Ohhhh Angus could you post the sales lit on those machines?! I have always wondered about the features and how they were marketed. My aunt had the next model down an Imperial that was from 1966 or so. I remember it had a speed knob that was numbered 1,2,3,4 and a temp knob the same way. That washer lasted until 1977 and then she bought a Whirlpool washer. I always loved the Philco washer she had and all it needed was a new motor. The mechanicals of the washer were still good and so was the agitator before it went to the dump. Such a waste.

Has never seen one operate really should see it in person, its kind of amazing, the clothes roll over rapidly, but the water dosent spash...you just have to see it to believe it!
