Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Very very nice! One of the best built washers available in my opinion.
Take care.

Very nice machine. I had the Amana version back in the 90's and it was a good machine. I ended up getting rid of it for a Frigidaire frontload washer when I was living in Omaha. When you run your maiden load your going to find that this washer does clean well and that agitator is so similar to a belt drive Whirlpool Surgilator in rollover. The bottom vanes flex like a Maytag PowerFin and from time to time you will hear a ticking noise as it washes. That tick is the vanes flexing to adjust the wash action to the size and type of load. You can hear it more with jeans and towels loads than lets say shirts and whites.
This washer also does a spin drain..no neutral drain here. Extraction with my Amana was ok...it spun at 600 rpms. This washer I believe spins at 710 rpms. One bit of advice...if you buy new towels there will be tons of lint on them after a cycle. I dont know if it has to do with the agitator but I had to rewash a load of new towels 3 times to get the lint out and then I gave up and let the dryer do the work.
If you are thinking about the dryer be forwarned...they heat up high and they are fast. Even the low temps seem high to me.

Excellent Choice!

Hi Keith, I know you'll be very happy with this machine! I own a set as well and I couldn't be more happy with their performance! One thing you'll notice right away is how quiet this machine operates! It is a well built machine and has the best warranty in the business. Good for you and many happy years of washing!

Other than the direct connection between the motor and the pump, this machine looks exactly the same as my Amana from 1991. Same inner and outer tubs. Ours does average of two loads a day. The only repairs have been a new motor and a new timer knob.

Congrats on your new machine! Gotta love them new Speed Queens, your clothes will thank you for not getting a DD. If you're really bored you should do a 10:00 minute full cycle vid.

Thanks for posting. Certainly is nice to see the metal outer tub. Trying to convince my folks that they need a new set - this is just more evidence that I'll be taking them to the local Speed Queen dealer.
