GE Profile laundry pairs have made their return to the market with the advent of their top load washers with Smarter Wash Technology and Smart FlexDispense. There are two variants: impeller and agitator (same style WP/MT, LG, and Samsung are using).

Washer capacities are as follows:
4.9 cu. ft.
5.0 cu. ft.

Colour choices are White or Diamond Gray.

Some notable features include:
Microban Antimicrobial Technology
Tangle Control - Adapts wash action to minimize tangles.
Sanitize w/ Oxi
Smart FlexDispense - Dispensers dedicated for detergent, pods, softener, and other additives like vinagear.

FlexDispense includes a 4th compartment on the dispenser drawer labeled Custom Add.  Use of the feature apparently requires connecting the machine via WiFi to a phone app which provides stated choices of detergent or vinegar for the type of additive, and choice of Pre-Wash, Main Wash, or Rinse for when during the cycle to dispense it.

There are four cups on the dispenser drawer.  Left to right, Softener, Custom Add, Tide PODS, Detergent.

Can't determine the ounces or tablespoons amount each holds from photos.  User documentation doesn't state anything about it.

The Tide PODS cup is a design to dissolve pods by water flowing through, it doesn't hold liquid and thus doesn't need to siphon-out residual water.

The other three are typical reservoir-type cups that hold liquid, flush-overflow with water to dispense the product, and have a siphon to drain the residual water.

There is a bleach cup at the left front corner, separate from the FlexDispense drawer.  It's presumably a non-timed funnel that directs bleach into the outer tub so it dilutes with the fill before contacting the clothes.

Ah, yes..

The Agifaker.

Getting tired of these things.
It wouldn't be a half bad machine if it had a dual action agitator. Even if it did a reverse action to 'lift' clothes from the center and help move them to the outside of the basket, it would be better than this!
The GE wash plate machines now actually do a half way decent job. Just hoping these machines improve upon them.

Vinegar is a laundry sour (mildly acidic) which counters the alkalinity of detergent toward a neutral pH, acting somewhat as a softener.

As I mentioned above in Reply #3, the Custom Add compartment is set at each load via the WiFi phone app to dispense as a Pre-Wash additive, Main Wash additive, or as a Rinse additive.  Presumably oxygen bleach can be handled by setting Custom Add for Detergent and either Pre-Wash or Main Wash, whichever is desired.  It's not clear what's the difference between the Detergent and Vinegar selections for the type of additive.  I suspect there either is no difference, or the selection has an effect on exactly when the additive dispenses during the chosen cycle phase.  Custom Add may not be suitable for powdered products being that it's a siphon-drain type of compartment.

Ge profile washer

This is basically their current lineup with just a new control panel. I looked up the diagram for the model numbers and was suprised to discover these have gone back to the noisy belt drive system. The previous ge models (gtw750) went to a direct drive system last year. So why ge would now call it a "profile" model and then go back to a belt driven system is beyond me..... a product is supposed to go forward in technology, not a step backward, calling it a "profile" means it is supposed to be more of a premium product of ge, not a cheapend product. True ge fashion. I gues that's all we can expect from them now being ad they are owned by china.

Parts diagrams show a belt-drive gearbox transmission of the same physical shape and size as a Whirlpool VMW.

Specifications state one-half horsepower motor but a photo of the motor shows a label on it that that says four-tenths (or two-fifths) horsepower which is one tenth less than one-half.  The label also says 4.6 amps and 1,650 RPM.  Maximum spin speed is stated as 800 RPM.
