The Rockford Files Marathon--GE Combination Refrigerator

Hoping Ralph rp2813 has been watching the old Rockford Files being run on TV this week....the '57 GE Combination gets alot more screen time than I remember it doing back in the day! Ralph, it's a twin to your own GE--rotating shelving and all.

Allen, which channel is it airing on?  I can't say I remember that fridge either, so I'd love to see one that made it onto prime time.

Ralph--It's HMMHD (Hallmark channel?) #565 on DirecTV (at least here in PHX).
I have it set on DVR--a couple 1974 episodes feature it pretty heavily--good enough that you can make out the "combination" script on the door and several scenes with the door wide open showing the interior.

Thanks Allen.  As a rule, Hallmark is a surf-over channel in our household, but I'll check it out.

Ralph, I lOVE that: "Surf-over"...HAHAH! Exactly my sentiments as well... I didn't even know I got Hallmark channel...found it by mistake last week and caught an ad for Rockford Files marathon. I HAD to watch---it's been nearly 40 years since I'd seen the show.

Used to get Rockford Files On MeTV

Via OTA broadcasts as part of their evening vintage "LE/private eye" line-up. It was proceeded by Kojack (yes!), and before that program Perry Mason. That is all over now and we only get Magnum and Perry Mason.

Rockford Files was part of a time slot that alternated with McCloud and McMillian and Wife. The former was alright enough, but couldn't stand McMillian and wife. Susan Saint James's character just got up one's nose. Even when expecting a child she couldn't help sticking her nose into her husband's affairs/crime solving.

It was fun seeing all of the god awful fashions, and cool cars.  James Garner was quite the looker in his prime!

Boy was he ever!

Which probably explains why even as an "older" man he still had thing with the ladies in Rockford Files. In fact it seems nearly all his clients were females, often in trouble and never could pay his fees.
