We have had a fairly mild Summer this year. If it weren't for the nasty baseball size hail storm in July it would have been almost perfect. Of course, spring didn't get started until late May. We had a ice and snow storm the first part of May then rain, rain, rain. We had about a week or so of 100+ temps the first part of July but then it cooled down to plesant 80's to 90's I think it hit 93 yesterday.
Today it's raining and about 67. Western Kansas had hail and storms last night, but so far today we have just had light rain. The weatherman is predicting we will get some of the moisture comeing up from the hurricaines. I need to clean the gutters again, but the roofers are coming next Tuesday and if I wait long enough they will do it for me.
I love fall, the smells, the mild temps. I do hate the leafs and the raking, but if you leave them long enough, like my neighbors have discovered, they will blow into another part of the neighborhood and you don't have to deal with them.
The only real bad part of this summer is we have only managed thus far to get one tomato. They were just starting good in May when the snow hit. Then they were just setting fruit in July when the hail beat them to the ground. They are just now recovering to start setting fruit again and. . .
My Mom says we are in for a bad winter, I think it's just good ole' global warming.
