The unofficial cake test.

So I’ve always wanted to try the Sears challenge of baking a 9x13 cake and letting my Ultra Wash consume it. Not wanting to waste a entire cake I just had to trust and believe, but after making a cake the other day had some scraps and trimmings left over so I thought I’d throw the whole plate in and see what happens. Needless to say it passed, but still amazing to see it complete gone, and no traces or yibbles in the rest of the load either.

Well done Cameron, however is was an easy test for this DW, what detergent and settings did you use ?

 

I keep thinking I should post some pictures of the loads we put in our PC DWs ever week, some of them are amazing and I have yet to be disappointed  with the results.

Great Demo; Strange Looking Cake

In my older Ultra Wash with the lightning bolt wash arm, I start it at the Normal Wash and when the first wash stops, I advance the timer two clicks into the next cycle segment giving a a nice long pre-wash. I heat the main wash so it usually lasts a minimum of 19 or 20 some minutes and drains out at 145F. I get great results on only 4 water changes. I use Cascade gel and add enough STPP to make both wash waters slippery.

I, too, miss my Power Clean. KUDS25. An absolute brute force. Nothing ever came out dirty and no yibbles like some complain about. Plus, it would dry dishes like nothing I have ever used, until I purchased the KDTM604. I wouldn't dare try this test in it, but it probably would manage.

Whirlpool!

I miss my 1992 Whirlpool power clean but I never did a cake test in it! It was so powerful and quick. The best DW ever made!
