im happy with it

it will do for a 20 dollar machine. guess i felt sorry for it well either that or im just a sucker for something to keep me busy.. it runs fine and for what ever reason the one has a super turn over when running.. the cone is cracked but think i have found a better one..its a wonder what some elbow grease, primer and paint, and epoxy will do.. it think it says mod WIG if thats right.. so what year is this child?

Judging by the control panel it looks like a late-70's machine, but with Frigidaire 1-18s I never know!! The control panel looks like it's in very nice shape (not eaten alive by Spray & Wash as mine was!) as well.

Very interesting that your WIG appears to be basically the same as the WC, with the exception of the markings on the control panel! My water level selector is a little different, and lacks the Jetcone diagram.

im not sure

im not good at years either..its funny if i dont have a project going on im just not happy. so this was a good one. tomorrow im going on the hunt again

Wow, Chris, great pictures and great restoration! What a difference between before and after, marvelous job! Enjoy, I know you've wanted a 1/18 for quite a while.

Good Job

I'm envious. Chris, I e mailed you before and you told me that you were the one who won this treasure that I was considering on bidding on as a parts machine for my working WIG. You probably gave it a better home then if I had it just sitting and collecting dust until it was needed for surgery.

who'd a thunk it?

That is more than just ok, that is fantastic. Very nice work. I have often wondered what would have happened if GM had kept these machines...would they have gotten cheaper and cheaper or kept their quality? The simplicity of your mechanism compared to early 'matics is striking.
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Chris. Great restoration job. Machine looks like mine...same control panel. Only difference is mine is harvest gold cabinet. I also saw pictures of your '51 Westy slant front which is also same as the one I have.

Wow Chris. Thanks for the great pics. You have talent and it shows. I love seeing a GM Frigidaire being brought back to life. It's time for me to get to work on my projects now that it has warmed up. Thanks for the motivation!
