Mine was the hot point ultima 2002-2004 wma64 it would never do a good job washing clothes came out even dirtier than they went in died of motor failure .
The dryer had to be the white knight compact 2004-2004 lasted one month timer went would warm the clothes and that was it

Skervis

about 15 years ago I was living in a rented place and they bought a new Servis (sorry chestermike), it was an 800 spin pile of shite, it didn't have a 40o cottons wash on it, only a 50o the wash was useless, the rinsing was even worse, super low water levels still took hours to do a wash...........just a cheap nasty budget machine that in reality was a waste of space.

I have never had any trouble with dryers, well maybe my very first dryer was Hotpoint single direction one, bought it about 1980/1 it dried ok apart from sheets which would ball up but that's not suprising, but it was very very noisy.

Worst washer was a GE HydroWave, Eco-efficient, load sensing pile of TL shite bought new in the summer of 2011. Almost no water was used resulting almost no turnover. The only way to get clothes even semi-clean was to run each load on the longest, hottest cycle TWICE, first with detergent, then without.

I've been lucky with dryers, lol.

None of the dryers I've used have been objectionable.  The slowest that I recall was a 1970s Maytag HOH at a family friend's house running a large load of large (pool) towels.

The worst washer would be the Neppy TL, although it surely is an interesting beast.

I can't recall any washer beeing actually bad. The AEG we have now is a bit on the down side in rinsing, the Bauknecht rinses well, but uses a bit more water then actually necessary. Both drums are on the smaller side.
Dryer wise, I really disliked our (quite well used) Siemens. It got to hot in my opinion, had a terrible problem with balling (which I began to figure out as the machine broke) and (finally) steamed up our laundry room quite well. I only recognized it as we got our heatpump dryer.

No bad dryer, but my Top load KitchenAid washer from 1996 was just awful. AWFUL. It never cleaned a thing, it never rinsed a thing, the transmission(gear box) went bad twice...it was just AWFUL. I ended up with a detergent rash from liquid Tide. This rash is Tides fault not the washer because I tried Tide in 2013 and ended up with a body rash again ..... so there is that. But as far as a crap washer it was this 1990's KA top loader. DREADFUL.....AWFUL. And did I say it was AWFUL?

Well, I didn't own it but it was in a cheap-ish apartment I rented when I was in grad school.

Whirlpool combo washer dryer. Wow! It was bad. The drum had sort of bumps in the metal instead of lifters which meant that the clothes bounced up and down instead of tumbling... (This wasn't intentional btw, it was just a really poor design)

It washed badly, it was noisy, it rinsed badly and it had all the drying ability of a small travel hairdryer stuck into a washing machine.
The cycle went on, and on, and on and the clothes got extremely hot, but they never dried.

I think it's the "landlord special" - very cheap and somehow barely complies with the description of "washing machine & dryer" on a rental brochure.

The worst W/D I've had to deal with is the unit that is in my current aptmt. I deal with it only because it came with the aptmt. It's a Frigidaire TL stack unit. The washer uses dumbed down temps which means if you want hot you are lucky for a tepid warm at best. The washer also loves to twist things up no matter how you load it and makes it a chore getting them out when it comes to washing sheets thanks to the indexing.  Surprisingly the machine does seem to do a somewhat ok job in cleaning but still....it's aggravating. Also the dryer takes an average of about 80 minutes for a full load.  But I think that has to do with the venting of the dryer which I have no control over since this is a rental unit.

Worst washer I ever owned was an Indesit w123. After 12 months the times would just constantly advance then the motor died and it took ages to do a wash load.

Worst dryer was a servis electronic with the digital display. Took ages to dry and sometimes to get it to go you would have to lift the lid and give the drum a turn with my hand and most of the time I would knock the live wire and end up the other end of the kitchen

Mine counts for both a washer and dryer, Indesit IWDC6125. Washed well, rinsed well, dried OK but lasted a mere 18 months before it almost caught fire (irony being it was being used as just a washer!)

Worst washer a Kenmore top loader (poorly maintained at rental apt)

Worst dryer Speed Queen (also poorly maintained at apt) clothes take FOREVER to dry

easy...2006 ge profile washer,,a true hunk of junk, worst turnover ever,110% plastic..water pump failed 2 times..2002 fisher paykel washer, from downunder with oddness, purchased because it kinda looked cool, different. But clothes came out a tangled mess, and to get a hot wash i had to do some fancy programming to "fool" machine, transmission went after 3 years of light use.Currently own 2012 speed queen awn432 with matching dryer,,,LOVE THEM!....awesome quality machines.

mine was a Amana Front loader from 2009. leaked from the front boot, had 3 repairs for the same exact problem in 10 months, replaced the front boot, and shook the house like a california earthquake during spin every time!(yes it was level) took it back to home depot and traded it for my LG wm2050, haven't had a problem since! I will never own a amana, horrible product!

What Servis model was that @ Electron1100? I knew someone who had a Quartz 'Spectrum' and that was quite good considering the abuse it got lol. They were very heavy handed with the buttons and door!

We bought a brand new Indesit washer years ago and the pump was so noisy we sold it! It would gurgle and groan you could hear it over the spin. Worst dryer I think was a Bosch condenser. For a reverse tumble machine it changed direction about 2 or 3 times and that was it and it nearly always managed to roll sheets up into a ball. Such a shame cos I love their washers.
