To being married to an appliance and machine lover. We had 24 hours to make a raccoon costume for a school musical for my 2nd grader. The wife cut and pinned and I did the fun part.

The machine is a Singer "Electronic" that was purchased new in 1998, it is probably one of the last of the real, heavy Singers. We also have a Brother PC8200, I prefer using it, but it is down for repairs.

It is great when all pull together as a team and accomplish miracles!

My mother bought a Sears Lady kenmore (TOL, natch) around 1973 that had a space for cams (or is it a cog?) on top that would make the needle "dance" and sew patterns and motifs.

Every freikin' pillowcase had a border. LOL

The LK went when she sold it to get a more MOL Singer to put in her Louis XIV fancy sewing desk/cabinet. OK the drop-in bobbin was nice but the LK was a much more FUN toy.

She sold the LK used and bought a Singer new and still had money left over for a pizza or two.. LOL

I have a Singer Fashion Mate and a Futura II, both of which I love. Machines now are made of plastic (though the Futura has a bunch of plastic inside)and just, well, crappyass.

Singers sure can sew!

I love a guy that can use a sewing machine! BTW Jackson, does your wife know how to use power tools? I'm ready to start my "handy ma'am" class right now!

Venus :-)

The Play is Wednesday, I'll post pics.

Venus, yes, my wife can use power tools. We have a 1968 Brady-esque split-level that is under constant renovation.
