Yup. Three of them.
The 18 built in I've had.
Avocado is the ABC Rescue Trip to New Jersey and Scranton Pa. All in the same day.
Coppertone is a Local that popped up the next day after I got back from Scranton. That one is from Buzzard's Bay. (Yes, there really is a town by that name).
All Racks and Wash Chambers are in Really Good Shape.
The 18 built in I've had.

I also brought over the Westy Terrace Top today. Plenty of projects for the Holiday.
Those 58s are mint.
Water Testing tomorrow. The plan is to make 2 Stellar Machines and part the Odd Man Out.

Wow! That avocado one looks minty fresh underneath!
I'll vouch for you re: Buzzard's Bay. I remember seeing it on maps when vacationing on Martha's Vineyard.

And the Copper is just as good.
If I get some motivation I'll get some pics later or tomorrow. But yeah when I hauled it into the truck it looked pretty spotless too. Too bad they butchered the Hoses for the Unicouple. They "hacked" it into a Freestanding Machine by extending the hoses in the worse possible way.
The Avocado's Top was so gross, I left it at it's point of origin. Copper's Top will look good after some heavy sanding and 10 coats of mineral oil.
And the Copper is just as good.

Nice lineup Eddie! Is there one heading in your kitchen soon? I also have a 18 that I think should end in the kitchen someday! I haven't played much with the few non-Frigidaire dishwashers I have, I think I should!

Hi Phil.
I want to have the Avocado in the Kitchen tomorrow or Christmas Day. My gut is telling me the I guess we'll call her Eva (Avocado) is going to fire right up and (fingers crossed) will be Plug and Play.
She'll need a good Bath, Scrubbing, and something to get rid of the Scent of 99 Glade Plug-ins that were in that apartment. Man, those things are nasty.
Does anyone know of something that I could spray her with to Neutralize that stench ???
If you have an KDS-18 Phil, they're I think KitchenAid's Pinnacle of engineering. Best Cleaners and they use a Ton of Water. But Full Cycle (Normal Wash) is done in just under an hour. Normal is Rinse, Prewash, Rinse, Wash, Rinse, Rinse, Rinse then Dry.
The 18-58 series are the last series that once the Motor starts, it runs through the whole cycle. The only pause is the delay for Sani Heat on the Sani Cycle.
Bada Bing... Done.

I have a 58 with a few missing parts (casters, top...) and my 18 is in really nice shape. The racks on the 58 are in decent shape but those on the 18 look like-new. The 58 has the newer-style constant rinse, the 18 has the original one. I was lucky to get the portable for free and I found the 18 sitting in a thrift store, I got it for $40 or $50 which was a fair price considering the condition of the machine.

I'm probably going to part out the 18 built in. The 2 Portables are in great shape as you can see underneath. The 18 built in Wash Tank has a few glitches in it.
The pump was just starting to leak a bit, but the rest of the components are worthy of cataloguing and boxing. The Portables can be built in at anytime. Where as the Built in well...
Once I get Eva in, I can't wait to cook a 2 level meal on Terrence Terrace Top.

Nice collection of 18's. Love the Terrace Top range, too. Only remember seeing one here, in a bank employee kitchen with a matching Westy dishwasher and refrig. all TOL. Wonderful find, Eddie - you're going to have fun over the holiday.

Eddie, if the built in 18 is in good working order, why not offer it to our mutual friend who is looking to replace the KDS-17?
It will be a great upgrade to the 18.

OK.
Got a chance to start the Big Inspection the past two days.
First up... The Buzzard ( The Coppertone )
Despite the really poor appearance I think this one so far is going to turn out real good.
Filled it up with Hot Water and No Leaks.
Now, there is this God Awful mildew thing going on in the sump. So I threw some bleach on there and let it soak for about 15 minutes.
Plugged him in and he fired right up. Ran Quiet and Drained Well. However the Fan Motor for the Dry Cycle is a little screechy. So I'll lube it or replace it with one of the spares I have.
Here is the Black Slime In the Sump.
As bad as that Black Crap looks there is no corrosion around the heating element.

Well, I was wrong. 5 hours in the back of a open truck should have dissipated most of it.

I really have to say as many of you I'm sure have said in the past.. "What is the matter with people ?"
They couldn't have used this machine to wash dishes after the Candle Wash.
I ever so gently scraped as much off as I could and vacuumed the particles out.

use very VERY hot water and some dishwasher gel...wax is a form of grease and it will melt and float to the top. While it's floating, stick an old rag or paper towel down into the water, pull it to where it's floating and it should stick to it, then just pull it straight back up and out and throw it away. May have to repeat a couple of times. That should get rid of most of the wax. A wash in HOT water at least 140F with good detergent should remove it and send it on its merry way. My Jetclean has washed many a candle holder over the past 18 years (Tony loves candles) and I've never found any residue in the sump, and I've checked it many times over the years. Their water wasn't hot enough and/or they didn't use enough detergent or both. There are solvents that will dissolve wax (mineral spirits,naphtha), but I wouldn't put them in an old dishwasher, might damage the seals.

My plan for both these guys are to Sani Cycle the heck out of them once I get the initial "DeFunking" done.
The Mildew is nasty. Again, I can't believe people used this machine. ( They Probably used it before it molded).
