I've had to back off from 1/2 teaspoon in most loads to 1/4 teaspoon in some loads, though because it was causing some filming (which was weird). However, it's great stuff!!

Yes Lawrence  that is STPP.  does not take much in your DW.  Try it in your sink and feel the sifference much slicker feeling.

When I was using STPP in our dishwasher I found about 1/2 tsp worked just fine.
BTW over the weekend I found another dollar store that had tons of the Walmart Great Value DW detergent with phosphates. So we bought 6 more boxes. Then on the shelf below they had the Cascade w/Dawn gel packs with 8.0% phosphates! 20 tabs for $1.00. So we bought 10 of those.
Looks like we are good for another two years or so.

Lawrence, I thought you were using DW detergent that already contains phosphates? I would be afraid adding more would throw the balance off, and either not improve the outcome, or worsen it.

I think I would use it in the laundry instead, especially for really grimy items such as clothes worn for yard & garden work.

I am almost out of the

Food service/institutional Cascade, and it is sometimes challenging for me to get more. It's at a store that is about 10 miles away, and I no longer drive or have a car.

My sister kindly sent me this package, bought at chemicalstore.com (They might be a bit less expensive than Chemistry Store--my sister is like that.)

I have a rather disastery (don't ask) fiberfill comforter that I am going to use some of this on when I take it to the coin-op.
