Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I came across this video awhile ago when digging up some info on Samsung washers. She returned the top-loader and replaced it with a Samsung front-loader, which she also videotaped. While bemoaning the lack of water in the tub in the front-load video, you clearly hear the washer drain. Then she opens it up and shows us the proof that the machine uses no water.

Glad she's happy with the Speed Queen set she finally settled on.[this post was last edited: 6/30/2013-06:40]

Very strong woman ;-)

What puzzles me is why she keeps saying that the clothes on top are dry... is it just a figure of speech just because they're not submerged? Maybe a TL should really have loads of water to achieve some cleaning... but I can vouch for FLs as I've been using them all my life and the cleaning is impeccable even with a quarter of the water that a TL would use. Still, one has to understand that they need longer time to provide top-notch results.

Having said that, I was totally flabbergasted when she was showing inside the FL... there was no water at all... that's no possible! Probably the machine had just finished the main wash and drained the water... or it's just faulty!

well, when she showed us that the machine still had "no water" it still had 50 something minutes of the cycle left, i know these machines can take 5 to 10 min to "sense" the load, looks like the machine was NOT even done sensing, people associate loads of water with good cleaning and that's not true, think about washing your hands, you put soap and a LITTLE water and lather up, you wouldn't just submerge your hands in a sink FULL of soapy water and expect them to be clean would you?

Well, there is always the public perception by the lesser known consumer that they used to see their parents machine washing with lots of water and they'd always get positive results. The same logic was behind suds doing cleaning.

So when, something is using a different method to clean, obviously the thought is that it isn't cleaning at all.

Personally, if I saw the same thing, I'd have a suspicion it wasn't cleaning either. This is why a lot of us raise the water levels in our own machines if we can.

It's kind of a shame that she didn't really understand how a front loader works. It's kind of amazing how little water they use and yet they still work.

If anything though, where I would expect to see more water is rinsing, rather than washing...
