Just received my new issue of Consumer Reports and the powdered version of Tide Cold Water outcleans Tide HE!! (I use a Frigidaire front-loader). I used Tide CW and found it cleaned well---even whites----but old habits die hard and I now wash whites in hot water again, using Tide HE.
Also of interest: The liquid version of Tide Cold Water rates below Tide HE, and it's noted that it doesn't clean as well in hot water as it does in cold. Go figure, eh?
