Tide commercials...
Always wondered why they got to change machines featured like this......is it not to make models recognizable, recycled scenes from previous commercials or what?
That's not the first time I notice changes in what's showed, example different agitators and money shots than machines previously showed, controls and so forth..
Here an example..
Here we have what looks a Maytag, as she put curtains in that's a maytag agi and tub, but washer washing, totally whirlpool... How come?
Anyway....that's not a really extremely dirt load as she says actually....for me...

My thought is that since in that Era, P&G was pushing for almost all main makers to reccomend it (under money) either with including Tide samples in every machine or with shared washers advertisements in papers and magazines, for what concerned TV, they did not want to have any conflict of interests from other makers that may have contested that they did favour a particular maker than another...
Is that possible? In some just seem they purposedly changed them...no simple recycled scenes...

Still Working Through A Huge Box of All Detergent

With "Bleach, Borax and Brighteners"..... *LOL*

Still have not been able to get a straight answer as to what sort of "bleach" is in the stuff. It cannot be borax because why then mention the substance again?

My other niggle with the stuff is it tends to leave slightly bluish tint to whites and light colours. Find this especially on elastic waistbands and or other synthetic fibers. Also if undiluted product comes into contact with the wash say if the load is too large it leaves blue stains. One must soak/rewash items to shift.

Surf Is Fine

It does not contain enzymes or bleaches so for loads that require chuck in one of those Tide "boost" pods. Yes, it does remove the whiff from laundry and leaves a nice powdery vintage detergent fragrance instead.

Am *thinking* about moving on some of the vintage Surf boxes in my stash as one probably never will used the entire lot.

There was a early '50's Tide commercial I saw a few weeks ago on You Tube, and damn, I wish I'd written down the tile of it (here lies the problem...there was no mention of Tide in the title). I've been searching for it avidly and haven't had any luck as of yet

Woman is holding a box of Tide with the "with or without rinsing" message. There's one or two more boxes in the background. She's also singing "Tide gets clothes cleaner than any soap". She puts her hand in an agitating wringer washer and pulls out some of those magnificent Tide suds. Last scene is her in her backyard hanging up her Tide clean wash.

Has anyone else seen this commercial?
