Well, the new Sun products one is not that bad....but yes, it got a generic brand now...I got off ebay some years ago a bunch of coin vend surf, something like 10-15 packets, that was made by Lever/Diversey.
I suppose Lever/Diversey can or could until not long ago still make "original" Surf or anyway their own Surf and sell it under "commercial" use being vended machines and laundromat "commercial" istances...while Sun has the exclusive for home-meant laundry products.
The same happens with liquid Wisk and powder All.....both for vending size laundry detergent and institutional multipurpose buckets you can find around.
The coin-vend surf is still available from many suppliers, they sell 100 units boxes for$ 25-30, not cheap, but if you consider they're meant to go for 80 cents to $1 in machines here you realize they make some money off it anyway..
It's advertised being good on odors Power Fresh something, and oxygenated formula....
It had a nice smell, and found it being good for average solied laundry, but seem to remember that it didn't get completely clean a few load with kitchen stuff with thougher stains....can't remember well but probably it was my fault , as I missed to use more than one packet that would have been needed for that load.....it was some years ago anyway, my memory could betray me.
I was tempted to order a box again during my last detergent ordering, but it was already high and then spending 30 bucks to get off it 100 loads was not wise nor sensed.....I wished I could find someone selling them singularly or in lots of 5 or 10, then some packets could have been fine to include in the box...not a 100 units one, anyway, still expensive in cost per load for what you get...
