Has anyone had any issues with Tide HE over-sudsing in their front loaders? I had washed my windbreaker in my Neptune last night(by itself) and used a scoop of my Tide HE cause it did not want it over-suds. I only filled the scoop hlafway between the bottom and line 1. Should have equalled no more than a 1/4 cup. Well after a few minutes I stopped the washer and when I opened the door...The tub was completely full of thick, rich, creamy suds that did not hesitate to spill out onto my floor. Much to my chagrin I now a very clean rug in front of my washer and dryer. Had the Neptune had a window in it, I would have known not to open the door. Anyways , I figured I would put the question out there.

I had a problem with *something* oversudsing, but I can't remember if it was Tide HE or not. Probably not. Anyway, I've found that small loads will make a HUGE amount of suds no matter how little detergent you use. Don't have the same problem with large loads. Must be some law of physics at work here.

Luckily, my Frigidaire has a window so I could watch the suds in all their glory. When I was tired of watching them, I poured some diluted Downey in the detergent dispenser and that took care of the suds in no time.

Wow NeptuneGuy that sounds extreme. I have been using Tide HE powder in soft water for quite some time with few to no suds ever. Sears powder HE seems the same too. However, I have a bottle of Wisk HE that is very sudsy......in fact the Wisk created a situation similar to yours. I called the 800# and they are sending me a return tag and carton to send the offending bottle back for analysis. Plus a coupon or 2 for the trouble. Perhaps a call is in order to the Tide people.

I used to use Tide HE powder in my Bosch FL and never had any problems with oversudsing (and I tend to use at least the recommended amount, if not more). In fact, I found that I could add 1 or 2 TBSP of Tide HE along with any regular non-HE detergent and the Tide effectively suppressed all suds. That made a box of Tide HE last a really long time, and it was way cheaper than using HE detergent exclusively.

No I have never had this problem with Tide HE before either. But last night I cant explain...was there a full moon out? Maybe it was the gravitational pull that did it? LOL. I was going to call Tide today at work but was rushing around this morning and forgot. But I do plan on calling them on Monday. Veg-O-Matic nice to see someone else from Baltimore on here. Well guys thanks for your input. I'll let everyone know what happens after I call Tide.

SearsHE powder

I have mentioned before and just my "2 cents" but I love the performance and low if any suds from the Sears brand HE dets in the large pails. Nice clean scent, with front loaders, just one scoop is plenty and with top loaders one or two scoops suffices. I use it in my vintage top load Whirlpools and Kenmore that have tendencies to "suds-lock" and not spin due to oversudsing.
