It looks like P & G has been forced to do something about the many complaints about the safety of Tide Pods around children. It's an educational commercial, created by Saatchi and Saatchi.

I saw it air twice today during the daytime. I felt it was a pretty good "soft sell" of the idea that the product should not be left where kids can get at it easily.

You can watch it at the link:

I think it is quite cool...however....

I think they should have shown kids eating candies and putting things in their mouths that looked like the Tide Pods.  Not table ends.  Was that a turkey or basketball?  I could not tell.

Poor kids don't have a clue but the parents need to be educated.  So much information at our fingertips but "parents" are as dumb as a box of "Tide Pods"!!! (or rocks)

I don't remember anyone teaching me about the Skull and Cross Bones.  I was just always afraid of it when I saw it as a kid.  It was very effective.  I guess it was not an effective tool for advertising...with parents buying and all.  So they dropped it.  Does anything have the Skull and Cross Bones on it these days?

Thanks for the video link Sandy.  I never ran across this during commercials.

I remember the Skull and crossbone as a kids-knew right away what it meant--Don't eat or touch!!!Remember "Mr Yuck" that was supposed to replace the skull and crossbone-didn't seem like it worked.
Remember reading somewhere in one of my books on biology and animals-baby mammals have an instinct to "bite" things to see if they are alive or could be eaten. Then the mother is supposed to teach the animal-or human what can be eaten and how to get it.Hence the baby trying to bite the edge of the table.Wonder what we bit when we were little-maybe don't want to know.
