Yesterday, I took the tide power pods challenge. I accidently cut myself when I was trying to open a cheese packet for a macaroni and cheese cup as I was making my lunch. I tried to stop the bleeding by wiping it on my dark blue jeans. Fortunately, the cut wasn't that bad. Needless to say, my dad got worried when he sorted the wash yesterday when the stain might have been set-in. It happened 2 days earlier on Thursday when I got a minor cut. I used tide power pods heavy-duty on everything. the 3rd load was the big blue load - the one with the blood stained jeans. I used 2 power pods with the usual normal/casual cycle with cold water in addition to the accelawash, auto-soak and 3 extra rinses. When my dad sorts the clean laundry, we'll see the results. By the way, the power pods are double the size of the regular pods. My dad also put a dab of cold soapy water just to try to help the blood stain along to be removed. The tide power pods are specifically designed to remove impossible stains, according to the label. Blood is one of them. Sorry, no pictures. You should get the idea.

PowerPods

I take your word! But I will certainly stick to my Tide Ultra or Tide Oxi! They might be good for a full load, however, I can't use the regular Pods without major sudsing issues and excessive scent. Plus I do not think they clean all that great either. Consumer Reports also claims that the PowerPods do not clean as well at Tide Ultra or Oxi anyways at a lower price.
Side note: Your Kenmore FL sounds very nice. I actually have my eyes on a pair. I personally really like the idea of automatically including a 30 minute soak during the wash. Hopefully you are enjoying the machine.

I'm glad that you did not ruin the jeans, but

Why didn't you treat the stain as soon as you got it? Wonderful new products are great to have, but generations of good laundering practices can do wonders towards eliminating the heavy use (double dosing) of ultimately polluting chemicals which wind up in our environment.

I enjoy my kenmore elite.

It does recirculate during the soak, wash and rinse cycles. I decided to do a test. I could've pretreated the blood stain earlier. I just wanted to see what these heavy-duty pods could do. They do smell really nice. I think Eugene from Lorain Furniture should try them. I think starting a pretreatment solution could help. I've noticed that the tide power pods can suds too, but when I use arm and hammer scent boosters, the suds seem to be kept in check, especially during spin.

simple Hydrogen Peroxide would have removed the blood, fresh or dried on....spritz and wash as usual, works every time...something that should be part of any laundry room additive...

I heard using Visine will get the RED out too, but I think that came from a tampon commercial....anywho!
