What to replace it with...

Hi Terry<br
I have made up my mind to replace it with a Miele. I was initially going to go with the La Perla but after seeing the Optima I will be going with that. It's a bit cheaper ( okay, quite a bit cheaper ) but still has everything I am looking for and need. The long cycle time really doesn't bother me since I normally run the dishwasher at night anyway. Also, since it holds a bit more than the Kenmore I should not have too much of a bottleneck when I am entertaining. Besides, I normally have to run two loads with the Kenmore anyway when I have company. One for all the dinner dishes and serving pieces and the other for all the leftover odds and ends and stemware<br
It really does disappoint me that a machine that is only 3 years old is starting to give me problems and has been for the last 6 months or so but what really gets me the most is that I seem to know more about how this machine is supposed to operate than the actual repair techs. Very frustrating indeed<br

Chris, I hear you!! The techs today know very little for the most part. Be sure to keep us posted if you get the Miele and how you like it. Have you considered trying to find a vintage KitchenAid for a replacement?

Vintage Kitchen Aid

I have indeed thought of a vintage KA or even Maytag Reverse Load dishwasher but I have a very open floor plan in my house so I would want something that is a bit more quiet. Especially when I am entertaining. I know the cycle times are much shorter so it would not be a problem for long but I've just fallen in love with the Mieles after seeing them in person. So I kinda have my heart set on it. lol.<br
I'll probably be making my purchase by the end of the year, just in time for the holidays. That's if the Kenmore doesn't die or otherwise annoy me beforehand. hehe. But, I will keep everyone up to date when I do get the new one or if the Kenmore craps out on me. Or any combination of the two, lol<br

its a Kenmore with the new HE wash system. Gets the dirtiest loads done with 4-5 gallons of water. Takes a couple hours though. It's easy to live with because your really can't hear it, except draining. Then it modestly announces itself.

My dishwasher is the BOL Kenmore I got on sale for $199 at the day after Thanksgiving sale. It is Frigidaire built. It does ok for a new dishwasher<br
Thanks, I also love my set of Club too, I prefer that and my old Wear-Ever over the set of Kenmore Cookware that was shown in my first load, I prefer the weight of the Club
But for a teflon set the Kenmore has held up well with only minimal scratching and no peeling with 2.5 years of heavy use.<br
