Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Brent, you are so right!! It is wonderful to have a KitchenAid in my kitchen at last. Everytime I run this machine I am amazed at the results. Just tonight I did a load on the short wash cycle, 35 min. all done, washed, rinsed, and dried. Everything spotless. Haven't done a soak and scrub yet as everything comes out great on either a short wash or the normal cycle. Also I am not using any jet-dry with this machine yet and still have not one spot. My silver ware has never looked better!! YAY for vintage KitchenAid!!!!

You must have very good water to come out with spotless glassware without Jet - Dry
It is amazing however how little Jet - Dry is dispensed during the final rinse. The "filling" last forever
I usually use the soak and scrub cycle when I really overload it! Or if I have been in a casserole mode with tons of that good burnt on cheese and such on glass bake ware.
Also, I love the cycle you used tonight "short wash". I use it when there is a high demand for glasses and such
I just bet you don't miss that GE

Interesting Dishwasher Thomas!

Great loading....but I can't figure out what brand your dishwasher is
Looks very well built

Terry, I am so glad that you are enjoying your KA! I grew up with my grandma having a KDS-17 and always marveled at the speed of that machine. During Christmas parties the girls would load up the machine, and have it reloaded with more dishes in about 30 minutes! <br
I am very glad that you are enjoying such a beautiful machine. And that porcelain finish was still so smooth<br

Brent, I do have hard water but with a water softener there just doesn't seem to be a problem. <br
Ben, hope you are doing great, how is the kitchen coming along? Have you decided what dishwasher you are going to put in?

Hi Chris, thanks for sharing. IMHO a Bob load for sure but we will still need Bob's stamp!!LOL What kind of dishwasher do you have?

Hi Terry,

I have a Kenmore Elite. In fact, it is the same model that Bob has. It is has been a pretty good machine so far though after 3 years it seems to have become somewhat tempermental. I am thinking of replacing it in the near future.<br
Chris

Hey Chis, what are you thinking of replacing it with. Isn't it sad that after only three years you are having problems already. <br
Jon, you bet, we will for sure be able to come up with some "Bob Loads" that even Bob would be proud of!!!!

What to replace it with...

Hi Terry<br
I have made up my mind to replace it with a Miele. I was initially going to go with the La Perla but after seeing the Optima I will be going with that. It's a bit cheaper ( okay, quite a bit cheaper ) but still has everything I am looking for and need. The long cycle time really doesn't bother me since I normally run the dishwasher at night anyway. Also, since it holds a bit more than the Kenmore I should not have too much of a bottleneck when I am entertaining. Besides, I normally have to run two loads with the Kenmore anyway when I have company. One for all the dinner dishes and serving pieces and the other for all the leftover odds and ends and stemware<br
It really does disappoint me that a machine that is only 3 years old is starting to give me problems and has been for the last 6 months or so but what really gets me the most is that I seem to know more about how this machine is supposed to operate than the actual repair techs. Very frustrating indeed<br
