Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

While current Electrlux washer do more than one rinse, I agree that the rinsing performance seems lacking compared to others - at least from what I've seen in videos.

There's this guy on YouTube called Washer Tester, who, I assume, buys, tries, and returns washers. He shows an LG, a Samsung and an Electrolux on his channel. Both the LG and the Samsung have decent spins and spray rinses (suprisingly especially the Samsung), while the Lux frequently does a 10 seconds burst as the only spin besides the final spin. Granted, it also did four rinses with - sometimes - longer spins on a 3-hour Heavy Duty, Sanitize, Any Stain cycle.

He has a description of each cycle underneath each video.

HOLY CRAP you're right....I just looked at the Elux FL washer panel (at least the model I looked at) and there is no extra rinse button... AT ALL!! Just a fresh rinse button. And you wanna know what's scary about that? I don't think I would have even noticed that until I started actually using the machine. I'm So freaking glad to know this because the Elux was one of the ones I was considering ... WTH??? they can't even put an extra rinse button on there.. wow.. .I'm sorry but one rinse is NOT enough... even with a really good spin before the rinse

Mark_wpduet, you're welcome! 😊

As I said, in my experience with the TOL Elux washer that I have, it will NOT do more than one rinse, doesn't matter if I have the "fresh rinse button" pressed or not, one rinse rinse is all you get. (With the every day cycles - normal, casual, etc)

That first pump looks just like the one my technician replaced, been working fine since then.

Anyways moving back to the topic. I think my Electrolux did had an extra rinse option. However one of my criticisms was it just felt like there wasn't enough water to not only rinse everything out but also not enough water to wash the stains out. I believe this was because of energy regulations. Either way, I remember my socks would always get stuck in the drum seal and the thing was VERY noisy during the spin cycles even though it was brand new. If my next place comes with a Lux that was similar to mine but more upper grade because I believe mine was their basic model, I'll give Lux another shot. But if it's just as bad as the white one, it's getting replaced and won't be getting another Lux ever again unless they redesigned them to be better like the Crosley I had before the Lux.

I'm not sure if he listened to me but a LONG time ago I commented on one of this videos becuase he kept having to turn the built in light on/off... I made a comment saying he should buy one of those magnetic sewing lights on amazon and I think I sent a link... shortly after that, I noticed he was using a light on his videos like what I linked...

Mark, can you provide a link to that same type of light? I've wanted to get something like those lights that appear to stick to the side of the washer so you can light up the tub from the light? Thank you.

Bought a new one

Thanks for all the insight. One other thing to note: Electrolux still has a two-piece outer tub, if that matters to anyone.

I liked the styling of the Electrolux better but passed due to the inaccessible drain filter. I did watch some cycles online and found that the pumps are noisy. LG's DC pumps swayed me.

I purchased an LG unit. So far so good. Very quiet, spins smooth. My only gripe: There's no tub light!

cool!

As many washer videos of different brands of FL washers in operation on youtube... one of the main things I noticed about the LG's is that they use MORE water in the rinses than in the main wash.... and unless I'm missing something, I don't see this same thing happening with other brands..Maybe I think I did see Samsungs use more water in the rinses... But the Duets, Maytags, GE's Elux's.. from what I can tell, whatever water you get in the wash is what you get in the rinse (from eyeballing it)...Maybe they do use more but it's not enough to be even noticeable... but the LG's are a totally noticeable difference.. I think manufactuers would KNOW you need more water to rinse than wash..Apparently LG and Samsung are the only manufacturers that understand this? I don't know... Oh... I forgot... Speed Queen front loaders... I have no clue if they use more water in the rises than the washes...I've seen videos and I couldn't tell a difference between wash/rinse so I'm guessing not... but they did seem to use fair amount of water in the wash itself so that's ok.

They do have Extra Rinses

It appears that there may be two washers from Electrolux that have an Extra Rinse button. Models ELFW7437AW and ELFW7337AW have options for an extra rinse. Models ELFW7637AT or similar with LuxCare or “Smart Boost” appear to have Pure Rinse.

Samuel that was my complaint--no tub light like my Duet had. That's why I've ordered the above referenced light. At the time, few models had a tub light. With latest generation a year or so ago, more models have tub lights.

Mark, thank you very much. Have placed an order. Supposed to arrive tomorrow. Cannot wait to be able to see in tub and watch my washer again.

Samuel, congratulations on your new LG washer. Which model did you get?

I wasn't aware you had a Samsung FL before, thought you had a Kenmore VMW TL.

No problem... there are tons of different ones on amazon...

I'm pretty sure it will work well... Not sure how well it will work in a sunny room or with the light on... but at least you can direct the light up against the window..turn the light out and it should be good.

I noticed on the reviews someone's using it as a light for their dryer... why? I don't know. I thought all dryers had lights...maybe theirs went out. But you get an idea of how nicely it will magnetize to any metal part of the washer.
