Came across this in my Newegg email.  they do limited time deals daily on certain items.  Today from 1Pm-2:59 Pm PT they are offering the KA in Red for what I think is a very good price.  Plus, it has free shipping - I believe.

I know in the past if the deal has not sold out it will be available longer, but since it Pacific Time there is a bit of time to decide.  If you get one post and let us know how it works out.  I've bought a great deal of stuff from NE and they are great at customer service.

Not a bad price for that mixer... but I think Costco has had these for similar pricing in the past. Although more recently they've gone to 5.5 qt and 6 qt models for more $$$. And they've been advertising the HP instead of the wattage on their mixers lately. As in 1 HP for their latest Professional 6 qt models. That's probably around 700 watts. I also try to note if the packaging states the transmission has all metal or steel gears, or plastic (if the transmission gear material is not mentioned, I assume it's got at least one plastic gear).

I also saw a "Commercial" version of their 5 qt Professional mixer at their business center for $370. As far as I could tell, the main difference between the Commercial and the regular model is that the Commercial has a little guard behind the speed control to prevent accidental bumping of the lever to turn it on. The packaging also claimed it had steel gears and six feet (instead of the usual four, I guess) for a more stable mixer. Not sure that's worth an extra $100, although the "steel gears" claim might be worth it.

PS-The Newegg mixer is sold out now. However thanks for the link anyway. I saw a dual paddle West Bend bread machine for $50 so I ordered that. I like the fact that it can mix better than the usual one paddle machine, and the loaf pan is about an inch longer and an inch more narrow than the typical one paddle machine. Which for the smaller loaves can make slices that actually fit into toasters and sandwich bags... lol...

They've been dropping prices all over the place maybe even moreso here in Canada. I've seen the Pro 600 for as low as $259, the pro 450 is $219 at WalMart in town, the Ultra Power Plus is often on sale around $189 at Walmart or Canadian Tire. The only one that never seems to go on sale is the basic Classic for around $199.
They've got too many models and it's very confusing as to what is what,,

I agree, they are putting out too many models, it does get confusing.  They did well with 2 basic models, in addition to the commercial stuff, for many years.  Now just like everything else you have to research it for hours to determine what is the best model for you.
