Hi all -
These early Kenwoods often pop up on eBay UK, so it always makes me wonder just how many are still out there being used all these years later. One of the things I like about the Chef/Major is that it's a tried and true design, and they haven't messed around with it too much over the years. Every so often it gets a bit of a facelift and some minor updates, but just enough to keep it modern, without straying too far from the original idea.
Something so many appliance manufacturers could learn from! REAL quality products evolve and improve slowly over time, gaining themselves a good reputation as they go.

Some of the attachments for the Chef/Major have now been deleted from the line, namely the cream maker, coffee grinder, can opener and bean slicer. These can still be easily found on eBay UK however, often unused and still in original packaging.
In their place, we now have the following:
Pasta attachment (roller type)
Tagliatelle accessory for the above
Pasta maker (extrusion type, plastic)
Pasta maker (extrustion type, metal)
Ice cream maker
Food processor (only fits latest model)
The "Multi Mill" mini chopper/grinder attacment is still available too, as is the selection of Kenlyte and SS bowls, the splashguard and dust cover. All of the accessories are rather spendy however, usually costing as much as a standalone version would. Collect the full set, and the combined total cost is about 3 times that of the actual mixer itself!
Cheers,
Kirk
