Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Hummmmm... it has a GM front panel on it.

Very uncommon control panel though! Looks like it has the GM badge on the console with the three boxes, instead of the single box for the 'F' used by WCI. (example below). Maybe it is very very late? Dial looks set up similar to the Holy Grail washer.

pdub, do you have the literature for the holy grail machine, Ben mentioned? Id like to see what the holy grail frigidaire looked like. lots of buttons? thank you arthur

alr2903 - sorry, I don't have literature for the machine you speak of with all buttons. I wish I did!

I only have this picture I saved of model WEG. IIRC, I think these belong to a neighbor of gansky's.

mini water level

I don't know if all the two or three speed 1-18s had it but the Elite washer I had in teracotta red would not allow a high speed agitation until the water level was set at low to medium. the older models I had from the earlier 70's did not have that feature and if you used the high speed agitation with a mini load, all the water would splash upward on the edge of the inner tub. That would cause some posible leakage and rust down in the trasnsmission. The newer ones had the slower delecate agitation for lower water levels.I found this out truly by accident when I got a full Frigidaire kitchen free in terricotta from a dealership in Florida.I hooked everything up and had a mini load of my swimsuite and towels. I set it for high agitate/high spin and questiones the agitator going slower. I played around with the water level and saw it nspeed up after about 1/3 up the agitator.Great feature beautiful set. The refrig was the one with the answering/radio/recorder. the range was the TouchNcook with a black front and full see through window door.I truly loved them all!
