Was I surprised! Phosphated ROMA powder does NOT fully dissolve even in hot water. I use a Maypool commercial coin op in our condo and I don't overload. I saw chunks of it in the rinse water. After much experimentation, I realize it really won't fully dissolve!Back to liquids! Besides,it's too sudsy anyway!

David,

I've never had a problem in either of my Maytag toploaders, and no excessive susdsing either.  Strange indeed.

Hmmmmm.

Run a wash with some other detergent. Might the chunks of crud coming out the drain hose be chunks of sediment inside the machine (yuck!)? If so, changing the detergent would have little or no effect.

I lifted up those chunks, they were Roma, and in separate tests confirmed it. How sad. I would rather use a phosphated powder more than anything, which wouldn't be so possible much longer anyhow. The latino store now has the non-phosphate versions and only some was left of the phosphated.
