Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Speaking of draining washers, an aunt and Uncle of mine who lived in the country drained their machine out into a vegetable garden (I don't think it was intentional) and I remember cabbage that tasted like Cheer. Don't even want to think about the bleach. After my family informed them of the tqaste, they moved the line and pitched the veggies. Thankfully no one was poisoned.

septic tanks

some areas allow "grey water" tank systems that serve only the laundry while a "regular" septic tank serves the rest of the house.

the bottom line though

when it comes to septic field systems is not putting anything in there that shouldn't be in there. Bleach and bleach added detergents no way, Draino only when absolutely necessary, and as little "other" biodegradables as possible, other than your TP I mean. Charmins not really recommended, it doesn't break down fast enough for a TP and the amount a family can go thru in a day can cause problems. I'm the only one around here who hasn't had problems, likely because I'm pretty careful about it. I do add a package of septic activator every few weeks, just incase and cheap insurance. The honeywagon has never driven my drive LOL

Honey wagon

Even a properly maintained septic tank is supposed to be pumped out on a regular basis. The level of sludge at the bottom of the tank is supposed to be checked periodically and the tank pumped out when it reaches a certain level. So at some point, you will need the "Honey Wagon"
