Hello, I'm new here but desperately looking for help with my washer. My washing machine stopped at rinse midcycle about a week ago, I looked it up online in multiple places, watched tons of youtube videos, tried recalibrating, doing the diagnostic testing etc. Nothing worked but everything kept saying it might be the pressure switch, with my washer you have to buy a whole new control panel instead of just the pressure switch so stupidly that's what I did. I replaced it yesterday and the same problem is still happening. I'm completely overwhelmed with how to fix it and really don't want to have to pay for someone to come in unless I absolutely have to. Does anybody have any ideas on what I can try to at least know the exact problem? I have virtually no experience with fixing things and I probably should have tried as I'm now out $100 and many hours. Please help.

Thank you!

From what I've seen, that model has multiple issues.
In other words, it's a trouble-prone machine that frustrates the hell out of even experienced servicers..

Yes, I'm definitely feeling that from what I've been looking into! I definitely will know what not to buy next time

Numerous people on this site are faithful to "vintage" machines" since they were built with quality and reliability back in those days.
I, along with them, would rather spend money on those older machines, IF, it should ever need repairing.
Because those machines didn't rely on fancy electronics, they were simple in design.

My 1985 Maytag A482 is now 40 years old, and has never needed servicing yet.

They really don't build them to last anymore. My mom has had the same washing machine since I was a kid, never had any problems with it. I've only had this machine about 5.5 years

So, for a 5.5 year old machine, costing $500-600, it's typical that they are so poorly designed these days.
Last year, my neighbor hauled out a 4 year old Samsung washer and dryer for trash.
The repairman told them they both had too much wrong with them and turned down the job.
The washer alone cost $700.
Samsung is known for it's terrible products and customer service.

Hi sun89. Did you try to run the diagnostic cycle on your machine to figure out what’s wrong with it?

That’s the first step in fixing it, control board seldom fail in washing machines. Yes there is one similar to yours that had problems with the water level sensor on the main board, but aside from that we seldom see problems. I’m a servicer that works on washing machines every day. I think I’ve probably replaced somewhere between four and six boards in the last two years. It’s not the most common problem by any means.

Run the diagnostic cycle figure out what’s not happening is it not filling for rinse for example a much more common problem is a bad inlet valve

Advice from Matt is about useless. He says he’s had his machine for 40 years with no problems. He’s only had the house for 20 years with that machine, a while ago he said his GE refrigerator has run since 1985 turns out to be false, it’s a 2005 refrigerator, lol
