I'm not even going to go into the I-swore-off-buying-more-lamps routine. I acquired this turquoise monster yesterday. It is 34 inches tall and 39 inches wide. It's HUGE!!!

And Pink

For some reason, I've always loved the design of these lamps. I have had a pair in turquoise for a long time and when these pink versions turned up, I had to snag them.

The tiki lounge

At a flea market last Saturday, I found this bamboo hutch. I thought it would work great in the tiki bar.

And finally

I posted pictures of the leopard skin coffee table that I found. Well, here it is in it's natural habit, the tiki lounge.

That's it for show and tell this week

I got the sad news this week that a local flea market has closed its doors forever to become a Wegman's and a Super Target and whatever else. So sad, it's like a part of me died. That flea market was very, very large and I had found many treasures there and spent many a weekend day there. It will be missed greatly.

Great stuff Mike! Love the lamps!
Your tiki lounge is fantastic! Looks just like a couple of photos right out of the 1960's. Great job!

Too bad about your "treasure chest" closing up. Had that happen here several years back. When the local International Harvester factory closed up in the early 1980's the huge building was used as a flea market for several years. Used to spend many a rainy day out there. Do not know what the building is used for now,but the flea market has not been out there for about a decade now.

Thanks Rick

Here's one for Toogle. A friend of mine put a pigtail on the verstronic and install a tombstone 220 outlet. It gave me a chance to vacuum out the lint in the dryer. Man oh man was there a lot of lint in that thing!

Fab lamp finds. You know where to send them when you tire of it all. LOL
BTW is that a little Kenmore sputnik opener, I won one on ebay a couple of weeks ago, just waiting for it to arrive.

Very super lamp-and my sister had a pink clock just like the one you have in the picture of the lamp!!Later she gave it to me when I was a kid-It made the most interesting growling noise-so--natuarly what does a kid do-takes it apart!!Now to this day wished I had it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone

Mr. Veg-o-menace: You definitely know the score. Nothing "new" can come into my place without something "old" going out. I had to relegate a lamp in my office to the great lamp graveyard upstairs. It was part of a three lamp set and that was the last of the three to get its pink slip. I'm still trying to decide how to work the pink lamps in without moving anything else out but I'm coming up blank.

Pete: That's a GE. I have a couple in white as well but the turquoise fits in with the kitchen better.

Perc-o-prince: No, I didn't get those lamps in Adamstown. But, since my favorite flea market is now deceased, I may have to make weekly trips to Adamstown for their Sunday flea market. The problem is that it's about 50 minutes away and I'd have to leave my place at 6 am to have a chance at any of the good stuff.

Toggle, I didn't have that done to keep you away. Once this friggin' weather breaks (mother of god this is a long winter) I want to haul the old maytag dryer upstairs and try it out. Anyone have a great condition Maytag A142 washer they can spare?
