Caught It Last Night
Since "Call The Midwife" and "Upstairs/Downstairs" are now over, and Downton Abbey doesn't start until January there is a gap in my Sunday night PBS line up! *LOL*
So sat watching the NOVA special after the program about the "American Dustbowl".
All and all the NOVA program was pretty good. Fancy them putting it all together a mere two weeks post storm.
Could have done without the "approaching doom" music NOVA uses for these sorts of things, it sounds so cliche and almost makes one think the lamb has opened the Seventh Seal, or as about to.
The interviews with victims and their surviving family hit home. The poor mother of that young man who along with his best friend were killed by a falling tree branch in Ditmars was just too much. That poor mother. Imagine call and calling your son's cell phone only to get no answer. When the next day someone does answer it is a strange man who IDs himself as NYPD and that they will be coming over soon to "speak with you".
Then there was the NYFD who found the bodies of his brother and nephew that had drowned in the basement of their SI home. Tragic, just tragic.
