Amanas at giveaway prices...

are cropping up out here in Phx as well. I Just about bought an Amana 25 (Bob Newhart) style side by side in white yesterday. TEN dollars. Pretty decent, too. Just have no place to put it...Was tempted to message Sandy about it...because at 10 bucks plus some cheap transport to him...it could be a bit of a winner! Anyway...it's been there for 2 weeks and I don't think it's going anywhere. Let me know if you want pics or for me to peruse it.

The Bob Newhart Show Amana was a Harvest Gold 22; I'm not sure if the 25 had yet been introduced when the show debuted in the Fall of 1972.

I would gladly take on a 22 if I found one locally. Transporting one any distance would cost, as my Brooklyn friends say, a nominal egg.

Yes, I recall well the 22 on Newhart. The 25 I came across is visually identical on the outside (chrome mid-mounted handles and broad vertical mid-door trim. Larger, obviously, on the inside....but overall quite true to that original design. Clearly built before the plasticky trim changes occurred.
