Kelly,I must say you have outdone yourself!I am definatly going to print this thread.
"I have weird nightmarish experiences which are increasing as I get older"
It isn't because you are getting older my friend. This sounds to me the result of having so much on your plate, your breakfas plate, lunch plate. dinner plate and desert bowls lol.
But seriously looking at you list of "to do's" from above you have many, and your sub-conscious mind is just not letting you rest. In other words you brain is not completely letting you rest because of fear or just awareness of not being able to/time hasn't come yet to complete the many tasks you have on your agenda.During the REM sleep stages,sleep-on cells, are particularly active during REM sleep, and are probably responsible for its occurrence ,norepinephrine, serotonin and histamine, is completely shut down during REM. This causes REM atonia, a state in which the motor neurons are not stimulated and thus the body's muscles do not move.
This is just a thought along with your sleeping arrangments, like the other guys said they to play a role in how your body and mind rest.
Sorry to drag on. Just be careful with sleeping medication if you Dr. perscribes them. They can somtimes raise anxiety, and enhance these dreams.Take care, and keep those delicious dishes comming =)
