How many pairs of jeans were washed in that load?

A video would certainly be great to see the jeans load in action.

Sorry, I don't yet have any video of the 906. Maybe soon, if I get my @#$*! camera and video editing under control!

Allen says it's a garden/chicken snake, so that'd be my guess, too, LOL. I let the snake be, so no new footwear. No chickens in the neighborhood, but there are mouses/meeces around so a natural predator is welcome.

Ross, I did overdo the BobLoad® a little. That was eight pairs of jeans and 5 or 6 underwear. (GASP! You *didn't!?? Yup, I did.) It *fit* in the tag perfectly fine, but the poor dear couldn't roll it very well and the 10-min wash time is a bit short (I didn't think about resetting for another 10 mins). Six pairs would been better. Surprised me a little. My IWL12 loves that kind of load, but has fins at top of the agitator which helps.

Repair-work has not yet been done on the 906 (Austin, gotta get you here before you leave for the collegiate environment). I was leery of using it, but two more loads today and no sign of water seepage on the floor, so the leaking isn't much.

Geoff, Calypsos clean pretty well depending on the type and size of the load. There was a grungy towel/rag from the theater in that load, and while it surely didn't come out pristine, it did quite well.

Carol, your invite musta got lost in cyberspace! Either that, or you noticed the 2 AM target time ... But yup we should have a mini-meet soon. How are you for pulling stuck 'tag agitators? Maybe Allen can hook a rope to his jet and give it a yank!

So Bob, I guess a frontloader has not converted you to a once a week whether it needs or not launderer (LOL).

Well Scott, yes & no. The machine doesn't do as well with less than full loads some times. I would have done some of the laundry two weeks ago, or 3, but that was Easter Sunday and had no power due to the nsow. And the cold made me drag out some stuff I'd washed & put away due to warmer days ahead. And that was on top of everything else that was accummulating.

The old rule-of-thumb was, I believe, 1 minute per pound of laundry!

30 minutes is generally the duration of time a detergent can contnue to hold soils in suspension. I therefore do a pre-wash before a pre-soak! to ensure most dirt is flushed away ASAP!

I once had Starlings in my

"house-breaking-tenants" dryer! A whole nest right in the heater box. The "house-breaking-tenants" kept complaining it was longer and longer to dry the clothes so I opened it up and found a whole cute little dry straw nest of hard cooked eggs right there in the heater box!! Talk about a tinder box!!
I had to chase out an aggressive adult in the vent tube and then put a 24 hour guard screens on the outlet!!

Starlings are messy things,not like snakes!!

you are far better off running 2 shorter washes than one long one.. we have found that here time after time.. usually after 18 mins. the detergent will start breaking down. This is why most machine do not have a wash more than 15 or 16 mins.. A warm wash for 12 min then a hot wash, bleach will get just about anything clean. Mac

Stuck agitators

Pretty darn good at pulling them out, and I have lots of cushion in the front in case.....well...you get the idea. LOL

I know my 606's was a *&^%$ to pull, and probably had never been taken off and cleaned. It did not have the hex nut thingy on it...so all I had to do was pull up on it...ALOT~
I hauled it down to the car wash and blasted years of gunk off it and gave it a nice hot wax job at the same time. LOL

Now ask me about the time I did not seat it properly back on the spindle-thingy, and during wash...klunk klunk klunk...it came flying off...not once, but several times! Surprisingly, none of that grease that is on the "spindle-thingy" got on the laundry.

I just know I am going to get slapped for the spindle thingy remark, but hellifiknow what it's called. Some kind soul can correct me.

Spindle-thingy=agitator shaft. When re-installing the agitator, you really need to push down HARD in order to re-seat it. Does it "clunk" into place?

From the pics, the jeans look like they're wrapped around the power-fin.

I find that when I ball-up or roll the jeans and set them
in between the space of the agitator vanes the jeans can turn the better in the tub.

How about that?

Wrapped Tight

When Robert did the blue jean roll over test between the Kenmore and the Frigidaire, he loaded the "balls" of jeans in the Frigidaire and put the pants in lengthwise around the agitator in the Kenmore. I agree that loading any machine in the Frigidaire style, speeds the first rollover, which once set in motion keeps rolling.

The jeans were loaded in "balls" dropped in. Just the last two on top were kinda wrapped around. There was rollover, but a 15 to 18 min wash would have done a little better for that size load.
