Until a few years ago (ok, maybe 10 years ago) these were known as "Mark 27" ranges, introduced about 1959. The remote controls had several variations - there were cooktops and Mark 27's that utilized them, and there were 2 wall/cabinet versions of the controls (one with and one without clock/timer) as well as a range hood that included the controls for the cooktop on the front of the hood (no clock/timer in this setup).
