I am currently in the process of upgrading my single-speed Maytag A512 Washer. I've already installed a dual-speed motor, purchased a LA-712 control panel, and separately acquired a LA-712 wiring harness. This project has been moving quickly and smoothly so far; it's an easy machine to work on. However, I'm having difficulty understanding the wiring harness and need assistance in getting this washing machine up and running. If possible, could someone please share a picture of the backside of a LA-712 to help me in properly wiring it? We're currently without a working washing machine, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Specifically, I need to know the following:
Which color wires are meant for the lid lock?
Where should the orange wire from the motor be connected?
How should I connect the orange and black wires from the water valve?
Also what are the differences between the LA-716 and the A-716?
The first photo I uploaded is a homemade wiring diagram I put together entirely through guesswork, the others are actual photographs of the machine. The "lid lock override switch" you see installed is for a future upgrade.
I picked this machine up last year, rescuing it from the dump, I guess it was being "upgraded" by a new machine. It had been used in an efficiency apartment that remained largely unoccupied over the years, and his is how the washer appeared when it was sold to me for $50. I was thrilled to get it.
