It appears to be a "weigh to save " indicator on the right side of the buttons on the Laundramat. Is that possible?

What style of motor this washer uses? (High speed motor like Bendix?)

Frontaload:
There is no way to weigh-to-save with a side swing door, but you are right that it is an adjustable water level selector.

The main disadvantage with these machines is that like with the first Bendix machines, the water sprays into the top of the outer tub and onto the outside of the rotating cylinder, not into the cylinder and directly onto the tumbling load like with the full-size WH washers so the first flush rinse is not as effective at actually flushing water through the load.

I think you're actually seeing the metal model tag by the door. The pic was taken at angle to it is hard to tell. I too thought about that for a sec.

Rodrigo, all Westinghouse were single speed 1725rpm induction motors. Earlier ones had a 'transmission' and later ones had tumble and spin pulleys with a one-way clutch between them so that in spin the spin pulley simply overran the tumble pulley.

I wish you LOADS of LAUNDRY with your new "Space-Mates"! It's funny, those were two of the only few front-load machines I never watched in operation. I sure hope you will consider making a video if at all possible, of those beauties at work!

Stacking Spacemates

I noticed that the dryer is flipped over when stacked on top of the washer. Are the dryer controls easily "reoriented"? I noticed also this way both dryer and washers door will swing out the same way (hinge on the right side) Which is a safer arrangement in a stacked installation. Side by side the washer should be installed to the left of the dryer. Most top loaders are designed have the dryer to the right of the washer. I never noticed this topic discussed before.

WH SPACE MATES

Both the washer and dryer doors are reversible on these 25 1/2" wide machines. I wish that the new FL washers could be reversed.
