PIMPIN!

I did a search on the caddy Talisman. Wow what a car! My dad had a 78 Coupe De Ville for a short while. It was neat with all the buttons, the climate control and yes, the 8 track player! Woohoo!

My Cadillac cruiser

I have owned Cadillacs since 1982. The one that I had the most fun in was my 1976 Eldorado convt. I let my niece Amanda use it for her wedding car.

Happy campers

I bought the Eldorado in California in 1984.I sold it via Ebay a year and a half ago. I had kept it 19 years and was tired of it. I replaced it with a 1955 Coupe deVille. I have some other pictures, however would have to scan them.

Not as flashy, however a better car....

Was my 1977 Coupe de'Ville

The car that would not wear out. Was going to trade at 100,000 miles, then 125,000,then at 150,000,175,000,finally sold it outright for $2700.00 at 197,000. It was a great car,and very fast! I drove this car as a daily driver for 15 years.

My first car

Was a 1958 Chevy. It came with a 283CID I changed it to a 409 CID. Gasoline was $.27 per gallon in 1972.... It was fast. Had to change the rear end twice, and rear tires... many times. LOL!

California cars

I bought several old cars in California during the 1980's. I would fly out,and buy something. Stay a few weeks and visit friends and family, then drive them home. Keep the car a year or two then sell them here in the Midwest for a nice profit. This was my first Cadillac, bought in 1982. 1961 Coupe. I paid $1300.00 for it,drove it two years, then sold it for $3800.00. Remember these were 1982 $$$ here.

Well, this one came from Santa Barbara

It was a 1962 Pontiac Grand Prix. The first year for that model.Bought it in 1989. My sister had to have this one,and owns this car to this day. Needless to say we did not make much on this one!! LOL!! BTW I did NOT put that bumper sticker on the car!

I want another Bug

Go ahead, laugh, criticize, do what you will. I want a Beetle Conv. Pref a 71-up Beetle (shoulder seatbelts. Gotta keep Bri safe).

By the way, Rickr, my dad had a yellow 78 Coupe DeVille. Sweet car. Bri said the garage and basement is all mine so that means cars, jukeboxes, and washers.

Rambler American???

Hi Ken, what model is your Rambler?

Sorry Veg, I was "over the hill" even in 1989. :)

Thanks for posting Rick; DAMN those are some nice Cadillacs! The 1976 Eldorado is by far the best one; bet that got some stares. The 1977 Coupe DeVille and 1961 are nice too! You should have kept 'em all, but the '55 Coupe DeVille and '61 Olds are a great replacements, IMHO!

Ken, great Rambler as well!

Rick,

It's a 1960 Rambler 6 Custom Country Club.
Rambler 6 is the model.
Custom is top of the line trim level.
Country Club means Hardtop.

The '56-'61 mid-sized rambler was called the "6". The V8 version was called the Rebel V8. In 1962 they changed the name to Classic. The longer wheelbase was the Ambassador. The American was the compact. I drive a '65 American to work everyday.

Rick, Nice Cads-

It's surprising to find someone else who has had his fair share of The Standard of the World; it's all I drive. Most of you guys have stumbled across my site (and I feel guilty plugging it so I won't) but thought I'd attach a pic of one of the '59s getting brought back up to snuff. After we both get off work Ben comes over and lends a hand. We should have it all together, running, braking and gleaming in a few weeks!

Cadman...what a fantastic site! I'll have to spend some more time prowling around there.

It reminded me of a couple of other Cadillacs in my life. Our neighbor had a 58 Fleetwood, with the air suspension. Dark blue with white top and dealer installed A/C. According to my father "the car was never right" after the A/C was installed. I can remember it being hauled out of their driveway, sunk to the ground due to the air ride problems. And this would have been when the car was about 3 years old.

My older sister, who knew I loved cars as a kid, had one of her clients drop some work over at our house. He was just back from Italy and she wanted me to see his new "Italian" Cadillac for 1960. Here's a 5 year old kid (me) arguing with this very gracious gentleman that it wasn't a 1960 Cadillac, but a 1959!! Little did I know what I was looking at! An Eldorado Brougham. Ah well, so much for youth!

1977 Cadillac

One of my roommates owned one his Dad bought, I owned one, and another roommate STILL owns one. They were great mechanically, but the interiors just didn't hold up well. Big weak spot was the power window switches the would break and fall into the armrest. And the formed armrest would crack and expose the foam underneaath. And it seems that starting with 1971, one would have to SLAM the doors on GM cars to get them to latch. Going over bumps, my car would rattle and you could hear the doors bum the striker posts. The 1972 Ford LTD Brougham I drove for a while was a MUCH smoother, rattle-free car. It's currently on E-Bay right now.

B-B-B-B-Baddd

All these huge land yachts. I really love the cars from the 50s-late 70s. They were so huge and heavy. They owned the road back then. Of course, those were the cars the honked and cut off us Bug owners. But that's ok, history repeats itself with the large cars and trucks of today purposely tailgating, honking, and cutting off me and my little Beetle. Of course, I win when they have to go to the next gas station and I keep on goin :-D .

Vintage Car lovers

Ken: Thanks for posting the Rambler pix. Those cars were quality built and like a lot of things, not fully appreciated until they were no longer being built.

Cory: I just love your web site. It's a Cadillac lovers dream!! The 59's are really something. They really are better known now, then in 1959! A 59 Caddy itself has become a synonym of the times of the 1950's. I see you have some 1970's Eldorados. I have a few more pix's of my 76 Eldo,I used for the ebay sale. I will try to post them for you later tonight.

Rick

76 Eldorado

Without my "peeps" in it. I loaned it out to friends and family 3 times in the 19 years I owned it,to be used as a wedding car.
