I was going back thru these and realized I had missed something odd before. One, I'm surprised anyone was still selling consumer electronics in 1942 due to wartime restrictions. And two, their ad makes it seem as if nothing unusual is going on in the world, LOL! No mention of the war or the usual exhortations to buy war bonds, etc.
 
1942 ad

Most likely the 1942 Crosley models began production in late 1941. It's very possible even if this was in a 1942 magazine, that the ad was prepared a few months earlier. For example, the January edition may have been printed in November of 1941. Last week I received the April, 2025 edition of "Old House Journal", so that practice is common.

I do know that Crosley Corp. converted their Arlington St. factory to making items for the war at some point in 1942. At that time, their radio station (WLW) had to move to a different location due to security reasons.
