thanks
Hi thank you all, James the kitchen was done very much on the "cheap" so to speak i had spent 6 months renovating my house before i could move in (my 1st home), i knew i didn't want a regular kitchen , i then got the cabinets of a kitchen fitter friend who removed them from a house in Carlisle. They are dated around 1959. The sink unit had a cupboard to the left of the sink which i carefully cut off and made a cupboard out of next to the fridge. The ones either side of the cooker were in fact one unit joined together and again i cut it in two. The wall units were in my house originally in the old small kitchen. At the same time i stumbled upon the cooker at a new kitchen shop when looking for ideas and bought it for £20. ( i used it for 10 years before getting it serviced to find it had 10 gas leaks!!, its now gas tight!) And about the same time i bought the Bendix off ebay for about £80 and had to collect it from Leeds. It had never been installed and sat in a pantry since being delivered in the mid 60's. The box of Skip soap powder is the one that came free with it inside the drum!
Originally i got cheap white work tops from B&Q ( a uk version like home depot) and up graded them 2 years ago with boomerang pattern on , the tiles and floor tiles were all cheap versions again from B&Q. The curtains were made from a scrap of fabric from IKEA.
Originally i had a different fridge and bought this one about 5 years ago £40, and the kitchen table belongs to a friend who lives in Australia ( and says she'll have it back if she ever moves home!)
The cupboards were stripped and re sprayed in Ford transit light blue by a car repair shop and my Mam painted all the carcasses by hand ( much to her dismay who longed me to but a nice IKEA kitchen).
The colston is english made so i would think it was sold in Ireland check out ebay Ireland for advert from newspapers.
The Hoover is in fact an electrolux model 90 from 1966 with cord rewind disposable bags and whistle function when full
i splurged a bit on this and paid £100.
The microwave is a modern whirlpool one but sort of fits in. I did have a Bendix super 12 dishwasher but that broke down so now have a beko one for every day.
Other bits and pieces include Kenwood Mixer, blender, Morphy richard toaster, Russell Hobbs kettle sunbeam mixer and fry pan, hoover and morphy richard irons.
