Thanks ken

I copied it correctly. I forgot to remove the "S" in the "https"; but even when I went back to fix it, the link didn't work - so who knows?

Appreciate your help, Ken!

Kevin

I think I will get them. I'll send you an email tomorrow when I get back to the office. I got a message from them this weekend while I was in Missouri.

U Ship

Hey folks... let me know if there is a trick to u ship... I posted to ship a fridge, and after almost a week have zero bids. I haven't used u ship in a couple of years, but in the past when I had used them, I got several bids (the early bids being very high, generally large shippers, and later bids being more competitive individual shippers). Is it worth paying the new extra fees to have a listing 'highlighted'? Or just run it again? I am concerned because the sellers rather obviously don't want to hold the fridge for too long...

Jeff,

Uship is hit or miss.  It really depends on where the item is and where it's going.  I am trying to get something out of northern Michigan now.

I have never paid to highlight a listing.  Most times I let shippers bid, sometimes I set a price.

YAY! and what a great person Kevin is for saving this set for a club member.

That dryer is a soft heat model and the burner is 37,000 BTUs. You talk about fast drying; this one is unmatched. I have two summer gas dryers under the deck with that modulating burner and they are super fast. One of the burners is in a Kenmore match-all model with the timer and push to start button under a lift up door and a full width door across the front. The other modulating burner is in the big KitchenAid dryer with the black control panel that matches the late 80s KA washer and electric dryer that live inside.  The temperature does not go above 165F, but it reaches 165F within 5 minutes of starting to dry a load of laundry and holds it there until the cool-down starts. As the load gets drier and less heat is needed, the flame decreases in size. It was a very expensive burner control system to make. A capillary tube runs from the burner assembly into the blower to measure the air temperature.

You are going to love this dryer! If you need to replace the blower belt, contact Jeff_Adelphi. WP wants $35 for the belt, but he had some made for less out of a stronger polyurethane.

Fantastic

It always makes me glad to see a member getting something like this, saving a pair from the scrapper and even more so when facilitated by another member.

37,000 btu - Wow! I would love that. My 68 Kenmore has a 25,000 btu that I thought was fast. Thanks Tom for the tutorial!

Your '68 has the solid rear bulkhead for the drum with the inlet and exhaust grills in it. The 37K burners were in the older style dryers that had drums with the perforated backs which were less efficient, although John Combo52 found a way to glue felt behind the drum to make the airflow less likely to flow behind the drum from the inlet to the exhaust without going through the tumbling laundry. My match all dryer is a perforated back model. I have found that 37K works really well in the solid bulkhead design dryers, too, just faster.
