Vintage Food Advertisements: Part Eleven

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Tom-- I made the Lemon Cheese Pie using an unroll-and-bake crust. Posted the results in the 'Shelter At Home' thread.  My bastardized version is so easy to make and it tastes great.

I love the differences in flavor balancing between today's recipes and those from the 1940s - 1950s. Really makes you realize that what we like about how food tastes evolves over time.

Louie, this one hit a home run. I hope you never run out of these great vintage ads with recipes! Thanks for keeping the threads going.

Those green tomato pickles in the McCormick-Schilling ad sound good; I've not had any in many years. I'll have to give that recipe to my sister. She grows lots of tomatoes every summer, and has plenty of green ones to do something with.

Stokely's had tomato catsup in the 1956 ad, but I've not seen it for decades. Anyone know when it was discontinued?

That Pet Mile-High Lemonade Pie is good. My Aunt Doris used to make it when we were there. In fact, I remember eating it at their house on Peterson Dr. in Jackson, MS, which would have been between '59 and '61.
